About Objectif Aventure

Created in 2014 by Terres d'Aventure and Grand Nord Grand Large, the Festival Objectif Aventure — renamed Festival du Film d'Aventure de Paris — is the annual meeting place for adventure, travel, and exploration enthusiasts. Every January, the CENTQUATRE-PARIS in the 19th arrondissement hosts thirty selected adventure films, conferences with explorers and personalities from the world of adventure, as well as a 600 m² Bivouac area with a specialized bookstore and activities for three days. The festival celebrates sporting achievements, bold challenges, scientific projects, and extraordinary human experiences.

The Festival Objectif Aventure: Adventure Cinema at CENTQUATRE

Since 2014, the Festival Objectif Aventure — now known as the Festival du Film d'Aventure de Paris — has brought together adventure, travel, and exploration enthusiasts every winter at CENTQUATRE-PARIS. Organized by Terres d'Aventure and Grand Nord Grand Large, two major players in adventure travel in France, this festival offers a total immersion into the world of exploration through cinema, encounters, and activities.

The concept is unique: for a long weekend in January, CENTQUATRE-PARIS transforms into an adventure base camp. Two screening rooms with 200 and 400 seats host around thirty carefully selected adventure films, covering all genres and eras: mountains, sea, desert, poles, tropical forests, extreme environments. From sporting achievements to scientific expeditions, from solo crossings to collective adventures, the festival offers a comprehensive panorama of contemporary adventure cinema.

Encounters with the Great Names of Adventure

One of the festival's major assets is the presence of iconic personalities from the world of adventure. Travel writers, mountaineers, sailors, freedivers, filmmakers, and scientists come to share their experiences during conferences and signing sessions. The festival has notably hosted Sylvain Tesson as master of ceremonies, as well as personalities like freediver Guillaume Néry, mountaineer Stéphanie Bodet, and filmmaker Mathieu Le Lay.

A Jury of Adventure Professionals

The films in competition are judged by a jury composed of adventure professionals — explorers, filmmakers, top athletes — who award several prizes for the best works. This jury ensures a demanding and authentic selection, highlighting films that best convey the spirit of adventure and discovery.

The Bivouac Area: An Immersion into the World of Travel

Beyond the screenings, the festival offers a 600 m² Bivouac area that forms a true adventure village. It includes a specialized bookstore for travel and adventure literature, a food court, partner stands, and activities for all audiences. This friendly space allows visitors to extend their festival experience between screenings and meet adventure professionals in a warm atmosphere.

CENTQUATRE-PARIS: A Venue Worthy of the Event

The CENTQUATRE-PARIS, a former municipal funeral service converted into an artistic establishment of the City of Paris, offers a spectacular architectural setting for the festival. Its vast spaces allow for simultaneous screenings, conferences, and the Bivouac village, making each edition a complete immersive experience.
