The Festival of the Black Bottom Pigs took place on August 3, 2025, in Ségur-le-Château, celebrating the gastronomic heritage of the Limousin Black Bottom Pig with entertainment and tastings.
Festival of the Black Bottom Pigs 2025
On August 3, 2025, the Festival of the Black Bottom Pigs once again attracted gastronomy and heritage enthusiasts to Ségur-le-Château. The Brotherhood of the Limousin Black Bottom Pig highlighted this ancestral porcine breed raised outdoors and fed on chestnuts.
Visitors discovered the Black Bottom Pigs, recognizable by their white coat and black hindquarters, and were able to taste charcuterie of exceptional taste quality. Breeders shared their passion and explained traditional farming methods that respect animal welfare.
The friendly atmosphere and the medieval setting of Ségur-le-Château contributed to the success of this festive and gourmet day.
