Festival Saint Jean de Rock: The Emerging Scene at the Heart of Livradois-Forez

Since 2017, the Festival Saint Jean de Rock has transformed the small village of Saint-Jean-d'Heurs into a hub for musical discovery and popular celebration every summer. This completely free festival is dedicated to the emergence and development of singer-songwriter music groups, offering a showcase for the independent rock scene in a rural and friendly setting.

A Festival by Enthusiasts, for Everyone

The Association Saint Jean de Rock brings together a team of passionate volunteers who work year-round to organize this event. The association also has a recording studio and organizes an itinerant tour, "La Tournée SJR," launched in 2019, which allows programmed artists to perform in other venues in the region before the festival.

A Rich Program Over Two Days

The festival takes place over two evenings in July:

• Friday: Doors open at 6 PM with an afterwork and happy hour, followed by 4 concerts in the evening
• Saturday: Doors open at 5 PM with a concert for children at 5:30 PM, happy hour until 6 PM, then 6 concerts to liven up the evening

The eclectic lineup features bands from rock, pop, indie, folk, and alternative rock genres, with a particular focus on emerging artists and singer-songwriters.

Craft Beer and Local Products

Since 2022, the festival has partnered with a local brewery to offer "La Bière SJR", a craft beer specially brewed for the event. On-site, festival-goers can enjoy fresh fries, local products from Livradois-Forez, and soak in a relaxed and family-friendly atmosphere.

Strong Local Roots

Located in the commune of Saint-Jean-d'Heurs, near Billom and about thirty kilometers from Clermont-Ferrand, the festival contributes to the cultural dynamism of Livradois-Forez. The event attracts spectators from across the department and beyond, drawn by the quality of the lineup and the authentic atmosphere.
