Tôt ou T'Arts: The festival that meets audiences

The Festival Tôt ou T'Arts is a traveling event dedicated to street arts, which tours the towns of the Pays de Gex and the Haut-Jura every year from May to September. Organized by the Centre Socioculturel Les Libellules, the festival aims to bring performing arts closer to residents, in the squares, streets, and parks of the villages.

A traveling festival over several months

The unique feature of Tôt ou T'Arts is its traveling format. Rather than focusing on a single location for a few days, the festival offers about fifteen dates spread over several months, in different towns each evening. In 2025, the festival made stops in Ornex, Versonnex, Cessy, Mijoux, Lélex, Ferney-Voltaire, Chézery-Forens, and other locations in the region.

Street arts for all audiences

The program encompasses a wide variety of street arts disciplines:

• Circus: acrobatics, juggling, balancing
• Street theater: sketches, performances, and theatrical interventions
• Music: brass bands, street musicians, open-air concerts
• Puppets: puppet shows for young and old
• Participatory entertainment: workshops and games for families

Each evening generally features two outdoor shows, starting at 6 p.m., creating a festive and relaxed atmosphere.

A stop in Mijoux in the heart of Haut-Jura

Among the towns visited by the festival, Mijoux holds a special place. Nestled at the foot of the Col de la Faucille, in a mountain setting between the Pays de Gex and the Haut-Jura, this town offers an exceptional natural setting for outdoor performances. The Mijoux evening takes place outdoors starting from the town hall, with shows suitable for all ages.

Free and accessible

True to its mission of popular education, the Centre Socioculturel Les Libellules offers all festival shows for free access. This free access allows it to reach all audiences, including those who do not usually attend cultural venues, and to create social connections in the rural towns of the region.
