Free summer concerts at the Jardin des Beaux-Arts in Angers
Created in 2009, the Tempo Rives festival offers free open-air concerts every summer at the Jardin des Beaux-Arts in Angers. From mid-July to mid-August, on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, the festival invites you to discover multiple musical horizons: jazz, soul, folk, world music, French chanson, and contemporary music. Eco-responsible and accessible, Tempo Rives welcomes over 30,000 festival-goers in a friendly atmosphere by the Maine river.
Since 2009, the Tempo Rives festival has set the rhythm for Angers' summer evenings with an eclectic and completely free musical program. Set in the enchanting surroundings of the Jardin des Beaux-Arts, by the Maine river, the festival offers around thirty concerts each summer, featuring national, international, and local talents.
Tempo Rives celebrates musical diversity in all its forms: jazz, soul, folk, world music, French chanson, afrobeat, contemporary music, and many other styles are featured throughout the evenings. The festival places significant importance on local creation while also welcoming renowned national and international artists. Under the artistic direction of Didier Granet, the program combines discovery and quality.
The Jardin des Beaux-Arts, located on the banks of the Maine river in the heart of Angers, provides an ideal green setting for open-air concerts. Spectators can enjoy the concerts seated on the lawn or standing, in a relaxed and family-friendly atmosphere. Food trucks and a bar area complement the offering for convivial evenings.
In 2025, Tempo Rives enhanced its program with Cafés Tempo, intimate concerts organized on Tuesday and Saturday evenings in five partner cafés in the city: Le Kent, la Chouette, le 1801, la P'tite Ardoise, and la Descente de la Marine. This extension aims to strengthen the musical offering and support local creation in neighborhood venues.
Tempo Rives is committed to an eco-responsible and accessible approach. The festival implements actions for sustainable development and strives to remain an event open to all, without price or social barriers.
