Tout-Petits Cinéma: The Magic of Cinema from 18 Months Old

Born in 2008 at the Forum des images, the Tout-Petits Cinéma festival is a pioneering initiative that offers children from 18 months their first encounter with cinema under conditions specially adapted to their age. For nearly ten days, the Forum des images theaters transform into a warm and welcoming space where toddlers experience their first emotions as spectators.

Enchanting Cine-Concerts

The heart of the festival beats to the rhythm of cine-concerts: animated short film programs projected on the big screen and accompanied live by musicians and singers. The live music, played close to the young spectators, creates an immersive and gentle sensory experience, perfectly adapted to the sensitivity of toddlers. Each edition offers several different cine-concerts, mixing original creations and reprises of programs acclaimed by the public.

Workshops to Discover Cinema Through Practice

Throughout the festival, daily workshops allow children and their parents to discover the secrets of cinema: making flipbooks, zootropes, an introduction to coloring images, and exploring film music and dance. The Doudou Studio, a workshop that has become emblematic of the festival, transforms each child's comfort toy into a movie star by animating it in a short animated film made on-site.

A Space Entirely Designed for the Little Ones

For the festival, the Forum des images provides a complete reception system for very young children: play areas, a reading corner, coloring activities, stroller parking, a nursing area, and family dining at the 7e Bar. A photobooth allows families to keep a souvenir of this first cinematic experience.

A Festival That Grows with Its Audience

In 19 editions, the Tout-Petits Cinéma festival has established itself as a national benchmark for the cinematic awakening of very young audiences. Its approach, based on respect for the rhythm and sensitivity of toddlers, has inspired many similar initiatives in France. The festival is supported by the City of Paris and the CNC, and is part of the image education policy promoted by the Forum des images throughout the year.
