Uriage en Voix: The Back-to-School Festival in Isère

For over twenty years, the Uriage en Voix festival has marked the end of summer in Isère with a free musical event open to all. Set in the magnificent Uriage park, in Saint-Martin-d'Uriage, the festival benefits from an exceptional natural setting, at the foot of the mountains, surrounded by the lush vegetation of the thermal park and the elegant Belle Époque buildings of the spa town.

A Free and Friendly Festival

One of the fundamental characteristics of Uriage en Voix is its total freeness. Co-organized by the Casino JOA d'Uriage and the town hall of Saint-Martin-d'Uriage, the festival is based on three pillars: an exceptional natural setting, free access for all, and a unique position in the Isère festival calendar, the first weekend of September, just before the school holidays.

Each edition of Uriage en Voix offers a varied program that mixes French chanson, world music, jazz, pop, and DJ sets. The festival unfolds over two days with open-air concerts, roaming performances, and musical ambiances throughout the weekend. The main stage hosts established artists, while more intimate musical entertainment punctuates the afternoons.

Since its creation, the festival has hosted many recognized artists from the French and international music scene: La Grande Sophie, Debout sur le Zinc, Féfé, Thomas Fersen, Hugh Coltman, Les Négresses Vertes, Têtes Raides, Axel Bauer, and Flavia Coelho. The festival also showcases local talents and emerging artists, offering a platform for the musical diversity of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.

The Uriage park is an ideal setting for an open-air festival. Located just 10 minutes from Grenoble and 15 minutes from Chamrousse, this thermal park offers a green and shaded space where spectators can enjoy concerts in a relaxed and warm atmosphere. The spa town of Uriage-les-Bains, known since antiquity for its beneficial waters, gives the place a heritage dimension that enriches the festival experience.
