The Fête de Clichy: A Cosmopolitan City Celebrating

Clichy is a municipality in the Hauts-de-Seine department with over 62,000 inhabitants, directly adjacent to the 17th arrondissement of Paris. The Fête de la Musique on June 21st is one of Clichy's most popular festive events. The 2025 edition featured a musical route through the streets, transforming the town center into a traveling stage. The procession, composed of brass bands, batucadas, and the Akata Kolo Orchestra — an afrobeat brass band — paraded through the streets to music before gathering for a festive finale at Parc Salengro.

This format of musical procession is particularly well-suited to Clichy, a dense and cosmopolitan city, where music in public spaces resonates differently than in enclosed venues. It reaches all residents, in their daily lives, from their windows or sidewalks.

Beyond the Fête de la Musique, Clichy boasts a particularly rich cultural and festive agenda. The salle des fêtes (banquet hall) and the city's cultural facilities regularly host concerts, children's shows, and dance evenings.
