Musical June 21st between the lake and the forest in Deuil-la-Barre
Deuil-la-Barre, a commune in the Val-d'Oise beautifully framed by the regional forest of Montmorency and the lake of Enghien-les-Bains, celebrates the Fête de la Musique every June 21st with a program of free concerts in its public spaces. The long June evenings, conducive to outdoor gatherings, combined with the natural beauty of Deuil's setting, make this annual celebration a particularly appreciated event by residents and their neighbors.
The green spaces of Deuil-la-Barre offer magnificent natural settings for outdoor concerts. The municipal parks, with their shady lawns under large trees, host acoustic ensembles whose sounds blend harmoniously into the warm solstice air. The proximity of Lake Enghien inspires aquatic concerts or musical animations on the banks. The view of the wooded heights of the Montmorency forest, accessible on foot from the center of Deuil, invites impromptu musical strolls between concerts. The town hall square and the forecourts of cultural facilities host the evening's main stages.
The Fête de la Musique in Deuil-la-Barre is built on a philosophy of musical openness and inclusivity. All styles are represented: from classical to contemporary, folk to rock, jazz to reggae, world music to French chanson repertoire. Amateur musicians from the commune play a central role in the programming, allowing musicians of all levels to experience public performance. Students from local conservatories actively participate in the event, presenting the results of their annual work to a benevolent and familiar audience. Professional artists from the region bring their expertise and elevate the overall musical quality.
Beyond the artistic dimension, the Fête de la Musique in Deuil-la-Barre fulfills an essential function of social cohesion and strengthening neighborhood ties. June 21st is an opportunity for residents who do not usually interact to come together in public spaces around a common passion. The terraces of the town's cafes and restaurants, extended for the occasion, become meeting places for sharing musical impressions, anecdotes, and contacts. Local associations take advantage of the event to raise awareness and recruit new members. The Fête de la Musique in Deuil-la-Barre is thus much more than just an evening of concerts: it is a moment of collective life that consolidates the identity and cohesion of the local community.

For the 2026 edition of the Fête de la Musique, the town of Deuil-la-Barre is concentrating the event at Parc de la Chevrette, a green setting ideal for welcoming families and festival-goers from the Vallée de Montmorency. The program runs from early afternoon until midnight, blending conservatory ensembles, an open stage for local talents, and a professional closing concert.
The event is structured around three successive periods: at 2 PM, the Conservatoire Municipal Maurice Cornet (CMMC) opens the day with a mosaic of musical moments prepared by students and their teachers (classical music, vocal and instrumental ensembles, traditional music). At 5 PM, it's time for the open stage for local talents (prior registration with the town hall's cultural department). At 7:30 PM, the closing concert « US Story » by the collective Saxetera Production traces the history of American popular music, from 1920s jazz to contemporary sounds.
Throughout the day, a creators' and artisans' market will be set up in the park, and several food trucks will offer sweet and savory food. Admission is free, and the event is open to everyone: families, music lovers, and residents of the Plaine Vallée conurbation.
