Free concerts throughout the city on June 21st
Every June 21st, Belfort celebrates the Fête de la Musique with around forty free concerts taking over the streets, squares, and stages of the city. Rock, metal, jazz, electro, folk, and classical music resonate from Place d'Armes to La Poudrière, offering everyone a festive and eclectic musical night in the historic heart of the Lion City.
Every year on June 21st, Belfort transforms into an open-air music stage for the Fête de la Musique. Created in 1982 by the Ministry of Culture, this national celebration takes on a particularly festive dimension in Belfort, a city with a strong musical tradition thanks to events like the Eurockéennes and the FIMU. Around forty free concerts fill the streets, squares, and venues of the city for an unforgettable evening.
The Fête de la Musique program in Belfort unfolds in various locations:
The Fête de la Musique in Belfort is completely free and open to all audiences. It brings together amateur and professional musicians, established local bands, and new talents, in a friendly atmosphere that makes this evening a unique moment of sharing. The diversity of musical styles represented reflects the cultural richness of Belfort and its surrounding area.
Beyond entertainment, the Fête de la Musique plays an important role in supporting the local music scene. Many bands from Belfort and the northern Franche-Comté region take this opportunity to perform in front of a large audience, sometimes for the first time. Organized by the City of Belfort in partnership with La Poudrière and local cultural associations, the Fête de la Musique is an essential link in the musical ecosystem of the Territoire de Belfort.
