Every year on June 21st, the city of Montreuil transforms its Parc Montreau into a huge open-air stage to celebrate the Fête de la Musique. For many years, this free event, open to all, has become one of the most anticipated festive gatherings in Seine-Saint-Denis, bringing together up to 25,000 people in an atmosphere of conviviality and musical diversity.

The Montreuil Fête de la Musique stands out for the scale of its programming and its intergenerational character. It often coincides with the City Festival and the Urban Cultures Festival, thus offering a doubly enriched program that blends established professional artists, local talents, and cultural associations from the area.

A Quality Musical Program

Recent editions of the Fête de la Musique in Montreuil have hosted national and international artists. In 2025, Cuban singer Yuri Buenaventura, an emblematic figure of French-language salsa, electrified the main stage of Parc Montreau, accompanied by singer Zélie and Michelle David & the True-Tones. The evening concluded with an exceptional pyrotechnic show orchestrated by the Commandos Percy company, blending live percussion and fireworks in a memorable finale.

Several stages are set up in different areas of the park and the city, allowing for the simultaneous hosting of various musical styles: world music, rap, hip-hop, electronic music, jazz, reggae, and French variety. Open stages also allow amateur musicians and local associations to perform for the public.

Urban Cultures in the Spotlight

The urban cultures dimension is particularly developed in Montreuil, a city historically committed to supporting street arts, hip-hop, and artistic expressions from the suburbs. The Urban Cultures Concert is one of the highlights of the June 21st program, with performances of dance, rap, beatbox, and live graffiti that reflect the cultural richness of the Montreuil area.

Around 80 associations are present on site, offering information booths, workshops, and activities for all ages, transforming the entire day into a true community celebration. Activities begin at 2 p.m. and continue until nightfall.

This strong commitment from the municipality guarantees the event's accessibility to all residents, regardless of their financial means.
