The village's summer festival at the foot of Ballon d'Alsace, the roof of the Territoire de Belfort
The Fête de Lepuix is the major popular gathering of this commune nestled at the foot of Ballon d'Alsace, the highest point of the Territoire de Belfort at 1,247 meters. Organized by the local Festival Committee with the support of FC Giro Lepuix, it brings together hikers and residents every summer for festive activities, a friendly meal, and a dance evening in the heart of the Vosges mountains.
Lepuix (90200) is a commune in the Territoire de Belfort with about 1,200 inhabitants, whose territory covers 28 square kilometers between the valley and the heights of the Vosges massif. It is the ideal starting point for ascents of Ballon d'Alsace, an emblematic summit at 1,247 meters, marking the meeting point between the Territoire de Belfort, the Vosges, and the Haut-Rhin.
Every summer, the village comes alive for its popular festival, a festive event that brings together the residents of Lepuix and the many visitors and hikers attracted by this exceptional natural setting.
The sports club FC Giro Lepuix is one of the driving forces behind local festive life. It is notably behind the Saint-Jean bonfires, a solstice tradition held every June 21st at the Gérard Clément stadium, where volunteers build a replica of a local monument before setting it ablaze in a popular atmosphere.
The summer festival itself is organized by the Festival Committee, with the participation of FC Giro Lepuix and other village associations. This collective mobilization ensures a complete and well-organized event.
The Fête de Lepuix draws its unique charm from its incomparable natural setting:
Lepuix is inseparable from Ballon d'Alsace, which attracts thousands of hikers, cyclists, and tourists every year. The summit is accessible from the village via several marked trails and hosts an artisan fair at the summit in the summer. The commune is also the starting point for the famous Montée historique internationale du Ballon d'Alsace, a gathering of vintage cars that attracts car enthusiasts from all over Europe every August.
The village festival is part of this context of a vibrant tourist commune, where the mix of permanent residents and passing visitors creates a particularly warm and open atmosphere.
Beyond the summer festival, Lepuix is a commune that values its exceptional natural heritage: coniferous forests, peat bogs, high-altitude pastures, mountain lakes, and remarkable wildlife. The annual festival is an opportunity to celebrate this natural heritage and strengthen the bonds between the inhabitants of a village whose life is intimately linked to the rhythms of the mountain.
The 2026 Fête de Lepuix will once again bring together residents and visitors in this unique Vosges setting. Family activities, friendly catering, and a dance evening are on the program for this day organized by the Festival Committee.
For the 2026 edition, the Fête de Lepuix Committee is preparing another festive day at the foot of Ballon d'Alsace. Activities for children, friendly catering, and a musical dance evening to conclude the festival in this exceptional mountain setting.
