The festival of the pearl of Val-d'Oise on the banks of the Oise
The Fête de L'Isle-Adam enlivens the banks of the Oise and the heart of this town known as the "pearl of Val-d'Oise" every summer. A seaside resort in Île-de-France with its beaches on the Oise, L'Isle-Adam offers a unique setting for a summer festival combining open-air concerts, water activities, shows, and popular festivities. This riverside festival attracts locals and the many holidaymakers who frequent the Oise beaches.
The Fête de L'Isle-Adam takes place in one of the most picturesque and original towns in the Val-d'Oise. L'Isle-Adam is nicknamed the "pearl of Val-d'Oise" for its exceptional setting: the town is literally surrounded by the arms of the Oise, which creates an island—hence its name—bathed by the river's waters. This unique river site has made L'Isle-Adam a popular summer destination since the 19th century.
The beach of L'Isle-Adam, on the banks of the Oise, is one of the largest river beaches in Île-de-France. Every summer, it attracts thousands of swimmers and strollers who come to enjoy the sun, the water, and the relaxed atmosphere of the Oise riverbanks.
The Fête de L'Isle-Adam naturally takes advantage of this exceptional aquatic setting. Activities unfold on the riverbanks, on the beach, and in the town's public spaces, creating a summer festival that is both festive and relaxing. Open-air concerts facing the Oise, water activities, fireworks on the river, and waterside shows make up the program of this summer celebration.
With the Oise at the heart of life in L'Isle-Adam, the festival naturally incorporates water activities. Canoe-kayak demonstrations, regattas, swimming races, and introductory water sports may be part of the program depending on the year. These aquatic activities attract athletes and families and give the festival a unique seaside atmosphere.
The beach of L'Isle-Adam is the epicenter of the town's summer life. Equipped with a water park, play areas, and restaurants, it welcomes thousands of visitors every summer, making L'Isle-Adam a full-fledged seaside destination in Île-de-France. The annual festival intensifies this animation and transforms the beach into a festive stage for several days.
L'Isle-Adam also boasts quality architectural heritage: the Saint-Martin church from the 14th to 16th centuries, the Château de Cassan (18th century, in a landscaped park), and Belle Époque villas along the Oise. This heritage contributes to the town's charm and may be the subject of specific activities during the annual festival.
