The 2025 Herring Festival of Saint-Valery-en-Caux was held on November 22nd and 23rd on the Quai du Havre. Grilled herring from 11:30 AM, demonstrations of salting and filleting, sea shanties, artisan market, and entertainment animated the port of this Albâtre Coast town.
2025 Herring Fair in Saint-Valery-en-Caux
On November 22nd and 23rd, 2025, the port of Saint-Valery-en-Caux hosted its traditional Herring Fair. On the Quai du Havre, grills smoked from 11:30 AM, offering visitors grilled herring accompanied by potatoes and Norman cider.
Local fishermen and chefs demonstrated the ancestral techniques of salting, filleting, and smoking herring. Sea shanty groups entertained the port throughout the weekend, while an artisan market offered local products and creations. Children enjoyed dedicated games and activities.
