Grand celebration of the agricultural and rural traditions of the Beau Jardin d'Alsace
The Fête du Kochersberg celebrates every summer in Truchtersheim the agricultural and rural traditions of this fertile plain nicknamed the "Beau Jardin" (Beautiful Garden) of Alsace. Organized around the traditional Messti, this large popular festival brings together flea market vendors, artisans, gastronomic brotherhoods, vintage cars, and family entertainment. Wood-fired tarte flambées, local product tastings, folk music groups, and fairground rides punctuate a day dedicated to Alsatian conviviality and pride in an exceptional terroir.
The Kochersberg is an agricultural region of exceptional richness, located west of Strasbourg. Its rolling hills and fields of wheat, hops, and tobacco have earned it the nickname "Beau Jardin" (Beautiful Garden) of Alsace. Truchtersheim, the cantonal capital, hosts the Fête du Kochersberg every summer, an event that celebrates this agricultural heritage and its accompanying traditions.

The Maison du Kochersberg, a cultural and associative center located in Truchtersheim, actively participates in the festival with exhibitions, workshops, and events that highlight the region's cultural heritage and traditions, from traditional headdresses to Schieweschlawe (throwing of flaming discs).
In conjunction with the Fête du Kochersberg, the event Terres en Fête, organized by the Young Farmers of the Truchtersheim canton, offers a large agricultural fair with plowing demonstrations, equipment exhibitions, and educational activities on agricultural professions.
The Fête du Kochersberg is scheduled for the third Sunday of August 2026 in Truchtersheim. Flea market, traditions, and local gastronomy are on the program.

By car: Truchtersheim is 17 km west of Strasbourg via the D31 or D228. Free parking on the outskirts of the village.

Third Sunday in August. Activities from 9 am until nightfall. Tarte flambée and pizza evening in the evening.
Free admission. Food and drinks are paid for on site.
