About Fête Nordique du Doubs

The Fête Nordique du Doubs, formerly known as "les Voies Blanches", is a winter event organized by the Espace Nordique Jurassien to introduce Nordic activities to the department's residents. Every winter, five Nordic sites in the Doubs simultaneously open their doors for a free day of initiation to cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, biathlon, dog sledding, and other winter activities. The event is organized in partnership with Amis du Comté, CPIE, Doubs Tourisme, and the Parc naturel régional du Pays Horloger.

The Fête Nordique du Doubs: A Day to Discover Winter Activities

Every winter, the Espace Nordique Jurassien organizes the Fête Nordique du Doubs, an exceptional day dedicated to discovering Nordic and winter activities. Formerly known as "les Voies Blanches", this event invites residents of the Doubs and visitors to try out snow activities for free on five Nordic sites in the department.

Five Nordic Sites Open Simultaneously

The originality of the Fête Nordique du Doubs lies in its simultaneous deployment across five Nordic sites spread throughout the department:

  • Combe Saint-Pierre (Charquemont)
  • Le Gardot (Montlebon)
  • Gilley
  • Le Gounefay (Pontarlier)
  • Chapelle des Bois

This geographical dispersion allows everyone to find a site near their home to participate in the event.

A Rich Program of Activities

Each site offers a program of varied and free activities:

  • Introduction to cross-country skiing: discovery of classic and skating techniques
  • Snowshoeing: marked and guided routes
  • Introduction to biathlon: laser rifle shooting and cross-country skiing
  • Dog sledding: demonstrations and taster rides
  • Horse-drawn sleigh rides: winter carriage rides
  • Children's play area: sleds, snow games, and activities
  • Exhibitions: rescue equipment and ski gear

A Free and Accessible Event for All

All guided activities and entertainment offered on the 5 sites are completely free. Only the rental of equipment (cross-country skis, snowshoes) is at the participants' expense if necessary. This free access makes Nordic activities accessible to the greatest number of people and introduces new practitioners to the cross-country ski areas of the Doubs.

Partnerships to Promote the Region

The Fête Nordique du Doubs is organized in partnership with the Amis du Comté, the CPIE (Centre Permanent d'Initiatives pour l'Environnement), Doubs Tourisme, and the Parc naturel régional du Pays Horloger. These partnerships allow for a variety of activities and promote the natural and cultural heritage of the Haut-Doubs in winter.
