Pontarlier Board Game Festival
Since 2018, the PontaLudik festival has brought together board game lovers in Pontarlier every autumn. Organized by the association Lud'Haut Doubs, this family-friendly and convivial event transforms the Théâtre Bernard Blier into a vast play area where hundreds of board games are available to the public throughout the weekend.
The richness of PontaLudik lies in the variety of games offered. From strategy games to party games, cooperative games to role-playing games, family games to expert games, the selection is designed to satisfy all types of players. Games are available on self-service on the festival tables, or presented by volunteer facilitators who explain the rules and guide the games. It's the perfect opportunity to discover the year's new releases, rediscover classics, or be surprised by original creations.
Beyond free play, PontaLudik offers tournaments for the most competitive players, special activities, and meet-and-greets with game creators who come to present their latest works. These exchanges between players and game authors are special moments that enrich the festival experience and provide insight into the behind-the-scenes of game creation.
PontaLudik is designed as an intergenerational and accessible-to-all event. Children from a young age find suitable games, teenagers gather around modern and dynamic games, parents rediscover the joy of playing as a family, and experienced gamers face challenges that meet their expectations. The warm and relaxed atmosphere of the festival makes it an ideal gathering for sharing a friendly moment around games.
The association Lud'Haut Doubs, founder of PontaLudik, works year-round to promote board games in the Haut-Doubs region. It organizes game nights, library activities, and gaming events, contributing to the vitality of the region's associative and cultural fabric. PontaLudik is the annual highlight of this effort, bringing together the gaming community of the Haut-Doubs and beyond.
PontaLudik returns for its 8th edition in November 2026 at the Théâtre Bernard Blier in Pontarlier. The association Lud'Haut Doubs is preparing a new fun-filled weekend with hundreds of board games, activities, tournaments, and meetings with game creators.
The festival remains true to its values of accessibility and conviviality, with free admission for all audiences. The detailed program will be announced in the autumn of 2026.
