The 7th edition of the UTMJ takes place from October 1st to 4th, 2026, with an arrival in Métabief (Haut-Doubs). On the program: nine events from 10 to 175 km, and a major new feature for 2026, La Jurasienne, a 300 km ultra-endurance relay crossing the entire Jura massif. Registrations are open on the official ticketing website.
UTMJ 2026 — 7th edition
The Ultra Trail des Montagnes du Jura returns from October 1st to 4th, 2026 for its 7th edition, with an arrival in Métabief at the foot of Mont Morond. The cross-border route connects France and Switzerland through three departments (Ain, Jura, Doubs) and two regions.
The major new feature for 2026: La Jurasienne (300 km)
This edition inaugurates La Jurasienne, a 300 km ultra-endurance relay (approximately 13,000 m of positive elevation gain) starting on Thursday evening, October 1st, from Culoz (Ain) to Métabief, in teams of 4 to 6 runners with GPS tracking. It is the longest event ever offered by the UTMJ.
Nine formats for all levels
In addition to La Jurasienne, the 2026 edition offers the now classic UTMJ events: the flagship 175 km ultra-trail (solo or relay), the Franco-Suisse (105 km), the Renarde (75 km), the CMM (40 km), the Lynx (20 km) and the Chamois (10 km), as well as an UTMJ Kids course for children.
As places are limited and the event is very popular, it is advisable to register quickly on the official ticketing website.

UTMJ: the ultra-trail in the heart of the Jura Mountains
Created in 2020 by Espace Ô, the Ultra Trail des Montagnes du Jura (UTMJ) has quickly become a benchmark event in the world of trail running in France. The finish line is in Métabief, in the Haut-Doubs, at the foot of Mont Morond.
An exceptional cross-border course
The flagship UTMJ race is an ultra-trail of 175 km with 7,000 meters of positive elevation gain, connecting Lancrans (Ain) to Métabief (Doubs). The course crosses:
- Two countries: France and Switzerland
- Two regions: Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Bourgogne-Franche-Comté
- Three departments: Ain, Jura, and Doubs
Runners navigate through the spectacular landscapes of the Jura massif: ridges, spruce forests, high-altitude pastures, lakes, valleys, and panoramas of the Alps and Mont-Blanc.
