30th Fête de la Gougère - 2025 Anniversary Edition
On Sunday, May 18, 2025, Flogny-la-Chapelle celebrated the 30th edition of its Fête de la Gougère, a symbolic anniversary for this gastronomic event that has established itself over three decades as one of the most flavorful events in the Yonne region. To mark this anniversary, the Festival Committee decided to return to the original site: the parking lot of the Salle Polyvalente and the Grande Rue, where it all began in 1996.
Open from 10 AM to 6 PM, this edition brought together over 40 exhibitors offering the best of Burgundian and regional gastronomy: artisanal brewers, winemakers, charcuterie makers with their steaming hot blood sausages, cheesemongers, delicatessens, confectioners, and crème de cassis producers. Local craftspeople, creators, and wellness providers complemented this lively and colorful market, alongside food trucks for on-site dining.
The gougère competition, the true heart of the festival, mobilized amateurs and professionals who came to defend their recipe before a jury of demanding chefs. Three competitions enlivened the day: the competition for the best gougère, the drawing competition for children aged 3 to 11, and the popular fastest eater competition, which always triggers hilarity and enthusiasm from the crowd. The results were announced in the late afternoon.
In terms of entertainment, magician Julien L'Magicien enchanted young and old with his tricks, while the Fanfare du Silex livened up the aisles with its festive musical parades. Face painting for children, the funfair with its rides, bumper cars, and inflatable structures ensured the delight of the youngest attendees. The spring chapter of the Guilde des Goûteurs de Gougères featured a solemn induction ceremony, welcoming new tasting knights into the Burgundian guild. Entry was completely free.
