The new town celebrates: free concerts in the heart of Cergy on June 21st
Cergy, the emblematic new town of Val-d'Oise and the heart of the Cergy-Pontoise urban area, celebrates Fête de la Musique every June 21st with an ambitious program spread across several outdoor stages. From the banks of the Oise to the city's public squares, free concerts and musical performances invite residents to enjoy a festive evening of artistic diversity.
Every June 21st, Cergy is adorned with music to celebrate Fête de la Musique in all its diversity. A new town built from the 1970s onwards, Cergy has contemporary architecture and generous public spaces that are ideally suited for organizing outdoor concerts. The Prefecture esplanade, the banks of the Oise, and the Trois Fontaines shopping center all serve as natural stages for this national festive event.
Within the Cergy-Pontoise urban community, Fête de la Musique takes on a special dimension. The urban area's cultural facilities—the Théâtre des Arts de Cergy-Pontoise, the ENSAPC (National Higher School of Art of Paris-Cergy), and the Axe Majeur, a monumental work by Dani Karavan—contribute to making Cergy a city of culture and creation. Fête de la Musique naturally fits into this vibrant artistic ecosystem.
The Fête de la Musique program in Cergy embraces all musical styles to reach the entire population:
The banks of the Oise are one of the most popular settings for Fête de la Musique festivities in Cergy. Along the river, landscaped green spaces and leisure centers offer a natural and peaceful backdrop for evening concerts. The Base de loisirs de Cergy-Pontoise, one of the largest in Europe with its 850 hectares of lakes and forests, also hosts festive events related to Fête de la Musique.
The Cergy-Pontoise Departmental Conservatory actively participates in Fête de la Musique by offering its students the opportunity to perform in front of a large audience. Instrument classes, choirs, and chamber music ensembles take over public spaces for an enthusiastic demonstration of the musical skills cultivated throughout the school year.
In line with the national philosophy of Fête de la Musique, all concerts and activities organized by the city of Cergy are free and open to all. This universal access to musical culture is at the heart of the values defended by the municipality, which wants every resident, regardless of age or means, to fully enjoy this annual celebration.
Fête de la Musique 2026 in Cergy will take place on Sunday, June 21st. Free concerts on several outdoor stages, musical activities, and performances are expected throughout the city. The program will be announced by the town hall in spring 2026.
Cergy will once again host Fête de la Musique on Sunday, June 21, 2026. Outdoor music stages, free concerts, and activities in the city's neighborhoods are on the agenda. The detailed program will be unveiled in spring 2026.
