The 24 Heures de l'INSA is the biggest student festival in France. Since 1975, every year in May, the La Doua campus in Villeurbanne transforms into a huge festive space bringing together nearly 30,000 people for three days and two nights of celebration mixing concerts, endurance races, and activities.
The festival offers three evenings of concerts with over twenty artists programmed on three stages. The musical lineup, eclectic and ambitious, mixes hip-hop, electro, indie, pop, rock, and current music, with headliners from the national and international scene. Among the artists who have graced the stages of the 24H are names as varied and diverse as they are, reflecting the musical tastes of the student community.
The 24 Heures de l'INSA gets its name from the famous 24-hour endurance races that take place on campus. These sporting events, which form the historic heart of the festival, mobilize hundreds of participants and spectators. The starting gun is fired on Saturday afternoon, and teams compete for 24 hours in a supercharged atmosphere.
During the day, the campus is open to all audiences, including families, with over 80 free activities designed for all ages. Games, workshops, association stands, food, and relaxation areas make up a rich and varied program, transforming the campus into a true open-air festive village.
The festival traditionally concludes with a spectacular fireworks display fired on campus, offering a grand finale to three days of festivities. This unifying moment brings together all festival-goers, students, families, and local residents in a warm and moving atmosphere.
Organized by students from INSA Lyon, one of France's largest engineering schools, the 24 Heures de l'INSA is the result of remarkable volunteer commitment. Each year, hundreds of students mobilize for months to design, organize, and bring this unique event to life, a true showcase of Lyon's student life.
