Festiv'été: Summer Celebration in Bourgoin-Jallieu

Festiv'été is the summer events program of the City of Bourgoin-Jallieu, in Nord-Isère. Launched in 2020, this event has quickly become a must-attend for residents and visitors of the Porte de l'Isère (CAPI) agglomeration community. From June to September, the municipality organizes over 240 100% free events in the city's parks, gardens, and squares, offering everyone the opportunity to fully enjoy the summer.

Iconic Events Throughout the Summer

Festiv'été is structured around several highlights that have become classics over the years:

  • Ciné-été: Open-air cinema screenings held in municipal parks and gardens, featuring films for all audiences shown at dusk. Seven screenings are spread from July to the end of August in different neighborhoods of the city.
  • Sportez-vous bien!: A program of sports and wellness activities accessible to all levels. Yoga, fitness, hiking, rugby initiation, team sports, and water activities are offered throughout the summer in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
  • Les Bals Carnot: Every Thursday evening in July and August, from 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM, Place Carnot transforms into an open-air dance floor. These free popular dances, led by orchestras and DJs, have become one of the most appreciated moments of the Bourgoin-Jallieu summer.
  • Sundays Picnic with Music: Several Sundays from July to September, families and friends gather in the city's parks for picnics accompanied by concerts and live music in the open air.

Neighborhood Parties and Family Day

Festiv'été makes a point of investing in all neighborhoods of Bourgoin-Jallieu. Neighborhood parties are organized in Champfleuri and Champaret, creating moments of conviviality and sharing close to the residents. The Fête des Familles (Family Day), a highlight of the end of summer, takes place at the Parc des Lilattes and on the renovated playgrounds of La Grive, Champfleuri, and Champaret, with creative workshops, giant games, and shows for children.

La Fête du Pays Berjallien

A flagship event of the program, the Fête du Pays Berjallien (Celebration of the Bourgoin-Jallieu Region) brings together thousands of participants every year on Place Carnot for a large communal meal followed by a popular dance and a fireworks display. This traditional festival celebrates the identity and heritage of Bourgoin-Jallieu in a warm and festive atmosphere.

An Event Rooted in the City and its Green Spaces

The Festiv'été events take place in the most beautiful green spaces of the commune: the Parc des Lilattes, the Parc Frédéric Chopin in Champfleuri, Place Carnot, the Esplanade de la Folatière, and many other sites. This decentralized program allows for the (re)discovery of the city from a new perspective, enjoying its natural spaces and urban heritage. Each edition brings its share of novelties: botanical walks, street art tours, electric bike outings, Aqua'Pop sessions at the Rajon swimming pool, and many other surprises.

Festiv'été — edition 2026

The 6th edition of Festiv'été will take place in the parks and gardens of Bourgoin-Jallieu from mid-June to mid-September 2026. Building on the success of the 2025 edition and its 240 events, this new summer season promises once again a rich and entirely free program combining open-air cinema, popular dances, sports activities, neighborhood parties, and picnics with music for all audiences.

Festiv'été 2026: The 6th Edition

Festiv'été returns for its 6th edition in Bourgoin-Jallieu, from mid-June to mid-September 2026. Following the success of the 2025 edition, which broke records with over 240 free events, the City of Bourgoin-Jallieu reaffirms its commitment to offering a summer rich in discoveries, encounters, and sharing for all its residents and visitors.

An Ever More Ambitious Program

The 2026 program, to be unveiled in the spring, will revolve around the now-essential events: the Bals Carnot every Thursday evening on Place Carnot, the open-air Ciné-été screenings, the Sundays Picnic with Music, the Sportez-vous bien! sports program, the neighborhood parties, and the traditional Fête du Pays Berjallien.

The Fête des Familles Returns

Following the success of its first edition in 2025, the Fête des Familles (Family Day) will be held again at the Parc des Lilattes, with activities specially designed for children and families: creative workshops, giant games, shows, and activities on the city's renovated playgrounds.

New Features and Discoveries

Each edition of Festiv'été brings its share of surprises. The 2026 edition will continue to enrich its offerings with new cultural, sports, and outdoor activities. Botanical walks, urban heritage discovery tours, and new sports initiations will complement the program's classics.

A Free Summer Open to All

True to its philosophy since its creation in 2020, Festiv'été remains a 100% free event, accessible to everyone without prior registration. The City of Bourgoin-Jallieu, in partnership with local associations, thus offers a summer of solidarity and celebration, in the heart of the commune's parks and gardens.
