Edition 2025 — Aups Truffle Festival
The 32nd Black Truffle Festival of Aups was held on January 25 and 26, 2025. Two days of festivities around Tuber melanosporum with a truffle market, "cavage" demonstrations, fireworks, and Provençal dances in traditional costumes in the village square.
32nd Black Truffle Festival of Aups — January 2025
For its 32nd edition, the Black Truffle Festival of Aups brought together truffle growers, restaurateurs, officials, and visitors on January 25 and 26, 2025, to celebrate the "black diamond" of the Haut-Var. In the colorful atmosphere of Place Martin Bidouré, the village of Aups vibrated to the rhythm of its most authentic truffle traditions.
On Saturday afternoon, the market for preserved truffles allowed visitors to purchase products made from black truffles—jars, oils, salts, and condiments—from local producers. The "cavage" demonstration with truffle dogs offered a fascinating spectacle: handlers and dogs at work in simulated soil, unearthing the precious fungi before the amazed eyes of children and adults. The evening concluded with a beautiful fireworks display at 7 PM.
Sunday morning began with Provençal dances in traditional costumes, bringing a festive and colorful atmosphere to the entire village. The fresh truffle market brought together regional truffle growers for direct transactions with professional buyers and individuals, in the great tradition of Provençal truffle markets.
