Fromages, Vins et Musique: The Celebration of Terroir in Mayenne
Created in 2017 by a handful of gastronomy and music enthusiasts, the Festival Fromages, Vins et Musique is an atypical micro-festival that combines the best of local products and the rock scene in the green setting of southern Mayenne. Each early summer, the village of Congrier hosts this festive and family event, driven by the association Fromages, Vins et Musique and a team of enthusiastic volunteers.
A Village of Quality Exhibitors
The heart of the festival beats around its producers' village. About fifteen carefully selected exhibitors offer a varied range of artisanal products for sale and tasting:
- Cheeses: farm-produced tommes, goat cheeses, pressed cheeses, aged specialties from several French regions
- Wines: selection from independent winegrowers, natural and organic wines, terroir vintages
- Craft beers: local and regional breweries
- Charcuterie and cured meats: sausages, rillettes, pâtés from farm producers
- Other specialties: honeys, jams, sourdough breads, and artisanal delicacies
Visitors can stroll from stand to stand, chat directly with the producers, and discover authentic flavors in a friendly and unpretentious atmosphere.
Tasting Workshops and Wine Introduction
Beyond the market, the festival offers wine workshops and commented tastings led by professionals. These educational and fun sessions allow visitors to better understand wine and cheese pairings, discover grape varieties and terroirs, and refine their palate. The workshops are accessible to both novices and experienced amateurs, in a spirit of sharing and transmission.
A Rock and Festive Musical Program
As the sun sets, the festival shifts gears and the music stage takes over. The program focuses on rock, blues-rock, and contemporary music, featuring regional bands and artists from the French independent scene. Previous editions have notably hosted bands from Mayenne such as Cédez le passage, as well as Flying Sounds and Big Wool. The free evening concert, held outdoors, transforms the site into a festive space where music lovers, families, and foodies mingle.
An Associative and Volunteer Event
The Festival Fromages, Vins et Musique is entirely run by the Fromages, Vins et Musique association, founded in Congrier. The event relies on the commitment of volunteers who handle organization, logistics, communication, and public reception. Funding comes from exhibitor contributions, participatory patronage via the HelloAsso platform, and support from local authorities. Free entry for all visitors reflects the association's desire to make culture and gastronomy accessible to the greatest number.

The 2026 edition of the Cheese, Wine and Music Festival will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026 in Congrier (53), in southern Mayenne. On the program: an exhibitors' village (cheesemakers, winemakers, brewers, charcuterie producers and farm producers), workshops and guided tastings, children's entertainment in the afternoon, followed by a free musical evening starting at 6:30 PM with Flying Sounds, Quasi Cosy, Slice Trio and Octane. A 2026 edition celebrating local produce and rock music
On Saturday, June 6, 2026, the Fromages, Vins et Musique association invites food lovers and music enthusiasts to Congrier, in southern Mayenne, for a new edition of its friendly micro-festival. As every year, the day combines tastings of local products, oenology workshops, family entertainment and outdoor musical programming, all with free admission.
An exhibitors' village open from 3 PM
The producers' village opens its doors from 3 PM at the Congrier village hall and its surroundings. Around fifteen exhibitors — cheesemakers, winemakers, craft brewers, charcuterie producers and farm producers — offer tastings and direct sales throughout the afternoon. Visitors can stroll from stand to stand, chat with producers and put together their basket of regional products.
Oenology workshops by reservation
For wine lovers, introductory and guided tasting workshops are offered in the afternoon, led by professionals. These workshops are accessible by reservation via the association's HelloAsso online ticketing service.
A free rock evening from 6:30 PM
As evening falls, the stage takes over with four acts scheduled from 6:30 PM:

The concert is held outdoors (covered areas in case of bad weather) and remains, like the entire festival, free and open to all.

Festival Location
The Fromages, Vins et Musique Festival takes place in Congrier (53800), a rural commune in the south of the Mayenne department, in the Pays de la Loire region. The event is held outdoors at the village hall and its surroundings, in a typical bucolic and green setting of the Mayenne countryside. The site has covered areas in case of bad weather.
Access
By car: Congrier is located about 35 km south of Laval via the D771 then the D25. From Château-Gontier-sur-Mayenne, allow about 20 minutes via the D22. From Craon, the town is accessible in 10 minutes via the D25. Free parking spaces are available in the immediate vicinity of the festival site.
By train: Laval SNCF station (35 km, TGV Paris-Rennes line) or Château-Gontier station (20 km). No dedicated shuttle service is provided; it is advisable to arrange for a personal vehicle or carpooling with other festival-goers.
Opening Hours
The exhibitors' village opens its doors in the early afternoon, generally from 1:30 PM. Tastings, wine workshops, and entertainment, including theater and music, take place throughout the afternoon. The free evening concert begins around 7:30 PM – 8:00 PM and continues until late evening.
Prices
Free entry for the entire event, including the evening concert. Tastings and product purchases are made directly from the exhibitors. Tokens can be used for the bar and on-site catering.
Food and Drink
In addition to the tastings offered by exhibitors (cheeses, wines, craft beers, charcuterie), a bar and a catering area are set up on site, allowing visitors to eat on-site with quality local products. Options for children are also available.
