About Le Son d'Gaston
Le Son d'Gaston is a contemporary music festival organized in Le Rheu, about ten minutes west of Rennes, in Ille-et-Vilaine. Over one day, it brings together an eclectic program mixing pop, rock, electro, hip-hop, rap, and reggae, with a stated desire for proximity between the public and the artists. Supported by the S.M.I.L.E association, the event highlights both emerging artists and headliners, in a family-friendly and convivial atmosphere.

The 5th edition of Le Son d’Gaston takes place on Saturday, September 19, 2026, in Le Rheu, west of Rennes, from 6:00 PM to 1:00 AM. Five acts will perform on a single stage: MCL CREW, Tribeqa, The Buttshakers, Mad Foxes, and Molotov Brothers. The event is held on the outdoor sports grounds of Avenue de la Bouvardière, which has been equipped with a 1,000 m² covered canopy since 2025.
Le Son d’Gaston 2026 — 5th Edition
The 5th edition of Le Son d’Gaston will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at the sports grounds on Avenue de la Bouvardière in Le Rheu (35650), behind the Flûme music school. The organizers have announced a single-stage event running from 6:00 PM to 1:00 AM. The site is outdoors, and since 2025, a 1,000 m² covered canopy has been available to shelter the audience regardless of the weather.
The evening's five acts
MCL CREW opens at 6:15 PM: a rap trio and winners of the festival's talent showcase held at Le Quai. Tribeqa follows at 7:30 PM, a quartet from Nantes blending afro-jazz, hip-hop, and West African sounds (chromatic balafon, acoustic guitar, drums, and vocals), releasing their album SUMU in 2026. The Buttshakers take the stage at 9:00 PM: soul and rhythm & blues from Lyon, featuring Ciara Thompson on vocals and their latest album, Lessons in Love. Mad Foxes perform at 10:30 PM, a power trio from Nantes playing indie rock and post-punk. Molotov Brothers close the night at 12:00 AM with a "Scratch’n brass" DJ set combining machines, vinyl scratching, trombone, and saxophone.
On-site
3 food trucks and bars are available within the venue. For guests with disabilities: reserved parking at 13 Avenue du Stade, enhanced lighting, accessible restrooms with lowered sinks, a designated viewing area in front of the stage, and an accessible bar.
Ticketing
Tickets are available via the Yurplan online platform at lesondgaston.fr/billetterie and will remain on sale until 6:00 PM on September 19, 2026. The festival is registered with the Pass Culture and accepts the "Sortir !" card from Rennes Métropole.
The event is organized by the S.M.I.L.E (Social Musique inclusif Libre Éclectique) association, founded in late 2019 in Le Rheu.

Adult advance tickets: €22 online, €26 at the door.
12-17 age group advance tickets: €6 (minors must be accompanied by an adult guardian).

Practical Information
Location
The festival takes place on the stabilized sports field on avenue de la Bouvardière, 35650 Le Rheu, located behind the École de Musique de la Flûme, west of Rennes. The Rennes Tourist Office lists the address as 55, rue de la Bouvardière. The grounds are provided by the municipality. The site is less than 5 minutes from the shops in Le Rheu and under 10 minutes from the RN 24, which connects Rennes to Lorient.
Getting There
By bus: Take the STAR network line 54 (Cintré – Le Rheu – Rennes Charles de Gaulle) and get off at the Lycée Théodore Monod stop, which is right next to the site. The trip between Le Rheu town center and Rennes takes about 25 to 30 minutes. On Saturday night, line 54 is the only available service.
Return shuttle: A bus departs from the festival at 01:15 from Lycée Monod to Rennes (République). You can use a valid STAR ticket, subscription, or pay by card/cash to the driver.
By car: Several free parking lots are available nearby; please follow the festival signs. Electric vehicle charging stations are located in the town center and at the Super U in Le Rheu. For carpooling, the organizers recommend using Mobicoop, the Facebook group facebook.com/groups/covoiturage.lesondgaston, or the Star’t line (serving Le Rheu, Pacé, Saint-Grégoire, and Cesson-Sévigné).
By bike or on foot: The association Le Rheu à vélo provides suggested routes. Estimated travel times provided by the organizers: Rennes city center 20 min, Fougères 45 min, Saint-Malo 1h, Vannes 1h10, Nantes 1h20.

There are 3 food trucks and several bars located within the festival grounds.
Accessibility
Reserved parking is available at 13 avenue du Stade. The site features enhanced lighting, accessible restrooms with lowered sinks, a designated viewing area for concerts, and an accessible bar. Safety and Prevention
Our "Gaston.iel.s" volunteers, wearing purple vests, are stationed near the ticket office. They provide information, disposable breathalyzers, condoms, earplugs, and hearing protection for children. Patrols circulate throughout the site during the evening, and a "safe zone" is available for anyone experiencing violent or discriminatory behavior. Part of our team is trained by the association Consentis to handle issues related to sexist and sexual violence.
