About Les Chardons Ardents

Every September, Les Chardons Ardents brings a weekend of live performances to the velodrome in Plélan-le-Grand. The festival is hosted by the "Heïdi a bien grandi" company, a local collective of artists specializing in theater, improvisation, music, circus, and visual arts. The site hosts a variety of theater, circus, dance, and musical acts, both indoors and outdoors, with food and drinks available on-site.

What makes this festival unique is its commitment to accessibility: the entire program is interpreted in French Sign Language (LSF), reflecting the organizers' dedication to creating a culture that is truly open to everyone.

Les Chardons Ardents — edition 2026

The 12th edition of Les Chardons Ardents takes place from September 18th to 20th, 2026, at the Plélan-le-Grand velodrome, featuring family-friendly performances all weekend long. As in previous years, the entire program is interpreted in French Sign Language. Food and drinks are available on-site, and some shows can be booked in advance.
