The Grand Noël de Montélimar: the magic of the holidays in Drôme provençale

Every year, the city of Montélimar transforms into a true open-air Christmas village. From December 1st to January 5th, the streets of the city center light up with magical decorations: giant snowmen, luminous penguins, a monumental Santa Claus, and sparkling garlands create a magical atmosphere throughout the city.

The lighting of the theater and the illuminations

The festivities begin on the first weekend of December with the lighting of the theater, accompanied by a spectacular fireworks display that officially launches the celebrations. The illuminations remain in place for over a month, making Montélimar one of the brightest cities in the Drôme during the holiday season.

The Christmas market

The Montélimar Christmas market is set up on the allées provençales and Place du Marché with its wooden chalets. Exhibitors offer artisanal creations, original gift ideas, Christmas decorations, and seasonal treats: nougats from Montélimar, mulled wine, roasted chestnuts, gingerbread, and other delicacies. The market is open from Friday to Wednesday before Christmas.

Entertainment and shows

On Saturday and Sunday afternoons, the streets come alive to the rhythm of brass bands, barrel organs, mascots, and street circus companies. The festive and musical atmosphere fills the city center for the delight of families. The Ferris wheel offers a panoramic view of the illuminated city.

The ice rink and activities for children

A temporary ice rink is set up in the city center for the enjoyment of skaters of all ages. Children can also meet Santa Claus in his house, participate in creative workshops, and enjoy rides and entertainment specially designed for them.

The end-of-year gourmet market

From December 26th to 28th, the Association des Commerçants du Centre-Ville de Montélimar organizes a gourmet market on Place de l'Europe, offering local products and end-of-year specialties. An additional opportunity to extend the Christmas magic in a friendly and gourmet atmosphere.
