Granzay'stival: The Authenticity of a Village Festival

There are festivals that don't aim to impress with international headliners, but rather focus entirely on the quality of the welcome, human warmth, and musical discovery. The Granzay'stival is one of them. Since 2019, this music festival has carved out a unique place in the cultural landscape of the Niort region, offering an open-air concert evening every first Saturday of July on the church square of Granzay-Gript.

A Village Vibrating to the Rhythm of Music

Granzay-Gript, a rural commune of a thousand inhabitants located a few kilometers east of Niort, was not destined to become a mecca for live music. Yet, it is precisely this improbable location that gives the event its charm. The church square, with its heritage setting and village atmosphere, provides an intimate and warm backdrop for the concerts.

A Program of Discovery and Conviviality

The philosophy of Granzay'stival can be summed up in a few words: authenticity, proximity, and a love for live music. The program connects local discoveries, rising artists, and established bands from alternative circuits, without seeking to accumulate big names. What matters is the quality of the stage performances and the artists' ability to create a connection with the audience.

From Brass Bands to Rock Concerts

The event generally begins in the late afternoon, at 6 PM, with roaming brass bands parading through the village streets to warm up the atmosphere. Concerts then follow on the church square stage, mixing rock, festive music, ska, and world music, until the heart of the night.

A Family-Friendly and Accessible Festival

The Granzay'stival asserts its family-friendly and accessible nature. Prices are deliberately moderate, and the atmosphere is designed to welcome all audiences, from children to the village elders. On-site catering and a refreshment stand complete the offer, in the spirit of a village fête revisited by music lovers.

Despite its youth — the festival was only created in 2019 —, the Granzay'stival has already managed to build a loyal local audience while also attracting festival-goers from the Niort region, drawn by the event's intimate and warm formula.
