20^th Edition — Mythical Creatures

For its twentieth anniversary, the Kaysersberg Role-Playing Game Festival dedicated the 2026 edition to "Mythical Creatures" in an assumed medieval-fantasy atmosphere. The report published at the end of the weekend indicates approximately 372 animated role-playing game sessions (229 pre-registered and 143 on-site), for 1,500 players and a hundred volunteer and professional game masters, in an atmosphere favored by radiant weather over the two days.

An unprecedented participatory Actual Play

A significant novelty of this anniversary edition: a live Actual Play led by Geek Fabula, immersing the public in the universe of Chroniques de Aetherion. In the heart of Kaysersberg's streets, riddles and collective choices directly influenced the scenario, with a session on Saturday, May 9th, at 8:30 PM (by registration) and a session on Sunday, May 10th, at 10:30 AM.

The market and publishers

The fantastic role-playing market gathered 60 exhibitors, including about twenty publishing houses specialized in role-playing games, board games, and fantasy universes, complemented by artisans (jewelry, accessories, costumes, illustrations).

Animations and shows

In addition to game tables distributed in several rooms of the historic center (Capucin, Badhus, Médiathèque, etc.), the festival offered two cloak-and-dagger shows by the Guilde de la Cigogne on Place de la Mairie (Saturday at 2 PM and 6 PM) and a performance by the Cadets de l'Ill (Saturday at 4 PM), storytelling sessions by Lundazepa, a fire show on Saturday at dusk (7:30 PM), axe throwing, archery, Troll-Ball, a thief's course, and several family escape games ("La Pyramide du Pharaon", "La Nuit des Bonbons", "Mystères et Sortilèges", "Une Créature Bien Gourmande").

Night sessions

As every year, the night sessions on Saturday evening allowed the most passionate role-players to extend the experience until early morning, with paper sessions starting at 8 PM and continuing throughout the night.

The 21^st edition of the Kaysersberg Role-Playing Game Festival is already announced for May 8th and 9th, 2027, still in the same free format, in the streets of the historic center of Kaysersberg Vignoble.

Kaysersberg Vignoble is located 12 km northwest of Colmar.

• By car : D415 from Colmar (15 minutes). Free and paid parking at the entrance of the village.
• By bus : Colmar Agglomération network from Colmar station.
• By train : Colmar station, then bus. Colmar is 2h30 from Paris by TGV.

Hours

Saturday: 11 a.m. to midnight (game tables from 1 p.m. to 6 a.m.). Sunday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (game tables from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. then 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.).
