KB'images: Photography at the Heart of Kaysersberg's Heritage

Since its first edition in 2022, the KB'images Festival has carved out a niche in the Alsatian cultural landscape by offering an original concept: merging contemporary photography with the historical heritage of Kaysersberg Vignoble, a village ranked among the Most Beautiful Villages in France. Spearheaded by the Kom'in KB association, a group of Kaysersberg merchants, and organized by photographer Nicolas Mazière, this free festival, open to all, transforms the historic buildings of the medieval town into open-air exhibition galleries every spring.

Three Exceptional Venues for Photography

The festival takes over three remarkable heritage sites in the historic center of Kaysersberg. The Badhus, a former medieval public bathhouse, hosts part of the exhibitions in a historically rich architectural setting. The Schweitzer Center, dedicated to the memory of the famous Nobel Peace Prize winner born in Kaysersberg, offers a prestigious cultural space. Finally, the Salle de l'Arsenal, on rue du Général de Gaulle, is the heart of the festival with its generous exhibition spaces. This distribution across multiple sites invites visitors to wander through the picturesque streets of Kaysersberg, amidst half-timbered houses and surrounding vineyards.

A Rich and Varied Photographic Program

Each edition of KB'images brings together about twenty photographers, from seasoned amateurs to professionals, from Alsace and beyond. The works presented cover a wide spectrum of photographic practice: portrait, landscape, wildlife photography, macrophotography, architecture, astrophotography, underwater photography, and abstract creation. This diversity allows every visitor to find something to marvel at and reflect upon.

Meetings and Conferences at the Heart of the Festival

Beyond the exhibitions, KB'images emphasizes the meeting between photographers and the public. Conferences are organized where artists share their passion, explain their creative process, and answer visitors' questions. These exchange sessions are one of the festival's highlights, offering privileged access to the vision and sensitivity of each photographer. A guest of honor is selected for each edition, highlighting a unique photographic universe.

A Free and Accessible Festival for All

True to its philosophy of openness, the KB'images Festival offers completely free admission. This accessibility, combined with the exceptional setting of Kaysersberg — voted the favorite village of the French in 2017 — and the quality of the exhibited works, makes KB'images a particularly attractive event for families, photography enthusiasts, and tourists traveling along the Alsace Wine Route.

KB'images — edition 2026

The 5th edition of the KB'images Festival will take place from April 17 to 19, 2026, in Kaysersberg Vignoble, with photographer Bastien Riu as the guest of honor. Exhibitions, conferences, and meetings with artists will be on the program in the heritage sites of the historic center.

5th Edition — April 17, 18, and 19, 2026

The KB'images Festival returns for its 5th edition from April 17 to 19, 2026, in the heritage sites of Kaysersberg Vignoble. The guest of honor for this edition is photographer Bastien Riu, whose work will be highlighted in the festival's exhibition spaces.

Among the announced photographers: JC Ouvrard, Alexandra Toulouse, Albin Panisset, Jean-Michel Pouzet, and about ten other artists. Visitors can discover the exhibitions at the Badhus, the Centre Schweitzer, and the Salle de l'Arsenal, attend conferences, and interact directly with the photographers. Admission remains free for this new edition.
