Monumental video mapping show on the facades of Place Stanislas in Nancy
La Belle Saison is a free sound and light show projected every summer evening on the facades of Place Stanislas in Nancy, an 18th-century gem listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Since 2007, this unmissable event has attracted over 7.5 million spectators. Originally named "Rendez-vous place Stanislas," the show offers an original digital creation each year, combining monumental video-mapping, music, and light effects, transforming the square into a magical open-air stage.
Every summer, Nancy's Place Stanislas transforms into an open-air theater with the La Belle Saison sound and light show. This free summer event, now a major cultural highlight in the Grand Est region, projects monumental digital creations onto the majestic 18th-century facades, blending video mapping, original music, and spectacular light effects.
Place Stanislas, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1983, provides an exceptional backdrop for these projections. Its classical facades, Jean Lamour's gilded railings, and the Amphitrite fountain become the canvas for an immersive show lasting approximately 16 minutes, where the architecture seems to come alive before the astonished eyes of thousands of spectators gathered each evening.
Since its beginnings in 2007 under the name "Rendez-vous place Stanislas", the show has reinvented itself each year. In 2022, the event was renamed La Belle Saison and entrusted to new creative teams. Recent editions have been produced by the agency AV Extended, winner of the Trophée des Lumières at the Lyon Festival of Lights in 2021, and known for creating the visual show for the reopening ceremony of Notre-Dame de Paris.
The 2025 creation, titled "Morphing Architecture", explores our relationship with heritage, time, artificial intelligence, and colors. The show unfolds in four acts:
The original soundtrack was composed by pianist and composer André Manoukian and musician Ena Eno, under the artistic direction of Jérémie Bellot in collaboration with graphic designer Josselin Fouché.
With over 7.5 million cumulative spectators since its creation, La Belle Saison is one of the most attended sound and light shows in France. The event is organized by the City of Nancy with the support of ECLATEC and the EDF group, and contributes to the tourism appeal of the entire Grand Est region during the summer season.
La Belle Saison returns in summer 2026 with a new digital creation projected on the facades of Place Stanislas. The program and artists for this edition will be announced in spring 2026. Free show every evening.
