La Stellienne: Running between Sea and Forest
La Stellienne offers a unique running experience on the Côte d'Opale. From the seafront of Stella-Plage, runners set off on a course that crosses three remarkable natural environments: the fine sandy beach, the wild dunes, and the resort's pine forest. This diversity of terrain makes La Stellienne an original and exotic nature race.
Two Distances for All Levels
The event offers two nature run courses:
- 5 km: A loop ideal for casual runners and beginners, allowing them to discover the different landscapes of Stella-Plage.
- 10 km: Two loops for more experienced runners, crossing the beach, dunes, and pine forest in a more sustained effort.
A 6 km hike is also offered for those who wish to enjoy the course at a more leisurely pace.
Children's Races and Barefoot Race
La Stellienne places great importance on families and children. Races are organized on the beach for the youngest participants, with free registration and a medal and drink upon arrival. A unique feature of the event: an 800-meter barefoot race in swimsuits is open to everyone for 2 euros, turning the athletic effort into a fun and quirky moment.
Stella-Plage, an Exceptional Natural Setting
Stella-Plage, a seaside district of the commune of Cucq, offers a preserved natural environment on the Côte d'Opale. Its immense sandy beach, maritime pine forest, and dunes provide an ideal playground for nature running. The resort, located between Le Touquet and Berck, benefits from a peaceful and family-friendly setting, far from the hustle and bustle of larger seaside resorts.
A Family-Friendly and Convivial Event
La Stellienne stands out for its family-friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The event is designed to bring together athletes of all levels, from seasoned runners to families with children. The spirit is about conviviality and the pleasure of running in an exceptional natural setting, rather than pure competition. Every participant receives a warm welcome, and refreshments are provided at the finish line.
A Dynamic Local Initiative
Organized by the municipality of Cucq and local associations, La Stellienne demonstrates the sporting and associative dynamism of the coastline. The event contributes to the summer entertainment of Stella-Plage and highlights the natural riches of this preserved area of the Côte d'Opale.
