About Labora Tori Festival

The Labora Tori festival showcases the artisans restoring the Chartreuse de Neuville, a vast 14th-century monastic complex that has been under renovation for several years. Its name combines the Latin "labora" (work) with the Japanese "tori" (a martial arts technique), referencing the "laboratorium," the room in a Carthusian hermitage dedicated to manual labor. Centered around the restoration site, the event blends artisan demonstrations, circus performances, and concerts to highlight the crafts of stonemasonry, woodworking, and stained glass.
