Rock, pop and French chanson festival in the royal city of Eu in Normandy
Since 2003, Le Murmure du Son has resonated through the streets of the royal city of Eu, a charming town nestled in the Bresle valley, on the borders of Seine-Maritime and Picardy. This human-sized festival has carved out its place in the Norman music scene by focusing on an eclectic program and a warm atmosphere that pleasantly contrasts with the peaceful ambiance of this town rich in heritage. The Château d'Eu, former residence of King Louis-Philippe, watches over the festivities from the heights of the city.
Le Murmure du Son blends genres with a particular taste for rock, pop, French chanson, reggae, and world music. Over the years, the festival has hosted artists as diverse as Thomas Dutronc, Caravan Palace, Tiken Jah Fakoly, Les Ogres de Barback, Marcel et son Orchestre, Naive New Beaters, JoeyStarr Sound System, Stuck In The Sound, Royal Republic, and Sanseverino. This diversity attracts a loyal audience who rediscover the joy of musical discovery every summer.
Le Murmure du Son does more than just offer concerts: the festival upholds values of commitment and ecological responsibility. Eco-responsible measures are implemented to reduce the environmental impact of the event, and the festival encourages virtuous practices among its audience. The associative spirit that drives the organization is reflected in the welcome extended to volunteers and an openness to everyone's participation.
The town of Eu offers an exceptional setting for a music festival. A former royal city, it boasts a 16th-century château, a Gothic collegiate church, and charming streets. Festival-goers enjoy this remarkable Norman heritage between concerts, discovering a town with a peaceful atmosphere that comes alive for a weekend in July. The festival contributes to the cultural influence of this rural area and the tourist appeal of the Bresle valley.
