Contemporary theatre festival at La Ferme du Buisson
Created in 2013 at La Ferme du Buisson, a national stage in Marne-la-Vallée, Les Enfants du Désordre is a theatrical event dedicated to directors between emergence and recognition. Every autumn, for two weeks in November, the festival brings together about ten stage productions that question our times with boldness and irreverence. Committed creations, reinterpretations of classics, hybrid forms between theatre, dance, and performance: the festival paints a portrait of a passionate, generous, and resolutely present-day theatrical generation.
Since 2013, La Ferme du Buisson has dedicated two weeks every autumn to a contemporary theatre festival of rare intensity. Les Enfants du Désordre brings together artists who revisit classics, invent their own dramaturgies, and explore the most intimate and political territories of the human condition. This highlight of the national stage of Marne-la-Vallée has established itself as a major event in Île-de-France theatre.
The programming of Les Enfants du Désordre oscillates between established directors and young, rising creators. Each edition offers around seven to ten shows over two weeks, mixing text-based theatre, performance forms, choreographic pieces, and multidisciplinary creations. The festival has hosted remarkable companies and artists such as Les Chiens de Navarre, Mohamed El Khatib, Igor Mendjisky, Mélanie Martinez Llense, and the Collectif 18.3.
Each edition is built around a thematic thread that runs through the shows: family, love, madness, utopia, revolt, identity. These universal questions are carried by demanding contemporary writing, inventive staging, and an artistic commitment that refuses lukewarmness. The festival interrogates the world as it is, with its violence and beauty, its absurdities and hopes.
La Ferme du Buisson, with its multiple performance spaces—from the grand theatre to more intimate areas—offers an ideal setting for this diversity of theatrical forms. The audience can attend multiple shows, participate in meetings with artists, and experience complete immersion in contemporary stage creation. The festival pass encourages this discovery approach by making access to several shows particularly affordable.
Les Enfants du Désordre plays an essential role in highlighting directors who, a few years later, grace the stages of major national theatres. The festival fully embraces its role as a pioneer, offering valuable visibility to artists whose work deserves to be shared with the widest possible audience. It is an act of faith in the vitality of contemporary French theatre.
The 12th edition of Les Enfants du Désordre will take place from November 14 to 29, 2025, at La Ferme du Buisson. Two weeks of contemporary theatre with about ten stage productions mixing new creations, reinterpretations of classics, and hybrid forms.
