More than thirty years of free music in Gond-Pontouvre
Since 1994, the Les Musicales de Gond-Pontouvre festival has been an unmissable musical event in the Angoulême urban area. Organized every year in February-March, this festival offers a series of free concerts at the Salle Joséphine Baker, providing the public with an eclectic program ranging from jazz to rock, including world music and French chanson.
An eclectic program signed Acamac
The Musicales program is proposed by Acamac (Association Charentaise des Amis de la Musique, des Arts et de la Culture) and chosen in collaboration with the Culture commission of the Gond-Pontouvre town hall. The festival highlights artists linked to the Charente region, while also welcoming musicians whose talent leads them to national stages and Parisian cabarets. The musical genres are varied: world music, jazz and blues, pop, rock, gypsy music, and French chanson.
The Salle Joséphine Baker, setting for Les Musicales
The Salle Joséphine Baker, a cultural facility of the commune of Gond-Pontouvre, hosts all the festival concerts. This venue offers an intimate and friendly setting, allowing for genuine proximity between the artists and the audience. Concerts generally take place in the evening at 8:30 PM, with a program of six to eight concerts spread over two to three weeks.
A free festival thanks to the support of local authorities
One of the unique aspects of Les Musicales is the complete freeness of all concerts. This choice, made possible by the significant financial support of the municipality of Gond-Pontouvre and GrandAngoulême, promotes access to culture for everyone, without any price barriers. The festival thus contributes to the cultural animation of the territory and the influence of Gond-Pontouvre within the urban area.
