Festival of itinerant and cycling concerts powered by solar energy in Seine-Saint-Denis
Les Scènes Nomades dans le 93 are a unique traveling festival in France: human-powered and solar-powered mobile stages crisscross the parks, squares, and canal banks of Seine-Saint-Denis every spring to host eclectic and free concerts. From Montreuil to La Courneuve, passing through Saint-Ouen, Saint-Denis, Bobigny, and Clichy-sous-Bois, the festival invites the public to follow the music on foot or by bike.
Since 2021, Les Scènes Nomades dans le 93 have offered a musical experience like no other: mobile, bike-powered, solar-powered stages that move from town to town across the Seine-Saint-Denis department. This project, born within the MAAD 93 (Musiques Actuelles en Agglomération de Développement) network, combines ecological commitment, festive travel, and the promotion of local musical creation.
The festival's originality lies entirely in its stages, designed by Véloma and equipped with mobile sound systems by Pikip Solar Speakers. These lightweight structures, towed by bicycle and powered by solar panels, can be set up in minutes in any public space. They produce sound quality sufficient for intimate outdoor concerts, without excessive noise pollution, and without relying on the electrical grid.
The fifth edition in 2025 deployed the Scènes Nomades over five days from May 25 to July 6, covering six different towns:
This ambitious geographical route makes Les Scènes Nomades a truly departmental festival, which refuses to concentrate in a single city and instead goes out to meet the residents of the entire 93.
Each day of Les Scènes Nomades offers an eclectic and open musical program, mixing local emerging artists and more established guests. The programming, managed by the members of the MAAD 93 network, highlights the richness of contemporary music supported by the cultural players of the department: hip-hop, jazz, electro, world music, chanson... The diversity of styles reflects that of the territory and its inhabitants.
Les Scènes Nomades invite the public to experience music differently: by moving, exploring the public spaces of the 93, joining the festival on foot, by bike, or by public transport. This invitation to soft mobility is accompanied by a team of "bénévélos" volunteers who ensure the stages are moved between different sites. The festival thus creates a community of active participants who reclaim their territory's spaces through music and movement.
The sixth edition of Les Scènes Nomades dans le 93 will again travel through several towns in the department between May and July 2026, with its solar-powered mobile stages and its free and eclectic musical program.
Les Scènes Nomades return to the 93 for a sixth itinerant edition that will once again cross the parks and public spaces of the department between spring and summer 2026. The exact dates and locations will be announced by the MAAD 93 network in spring 2026.
The festival moves across several sites in Seine-Saint-Denis. Each date takes place in a different park or public space. Consult the program on the MAAD 93 website for precise locations.
Accessible by public transport (metro, RER, bus), by bike (bike lanes and Vélib' network), and on foot from neighborhoods close to each site.
Completely free admission. All concerts are open to everyone without reservation.
