About Vendanges de Montmartre
Vendanges de Montmartre — edition 2026
The 93rd Fête des Vendanges de Montmartre takes place from Wednesday, October 7th to Sunday, October 11th, 2026, under the theme "The 18th sets the rhythm." Enjoy five days of free events throughout the 18th arrondissement: the Taste Trail at the foot of the Sacré-Cœur, the Harvest Proclamation and the Grand Parade of brotherhoods, a 5km night run, the non-marriage proposal ceremony, and the closing dance at Square Louise Michel.
A theme-focused edition: "The 18th sets the rhythm"
For its 93rd edition, the Fête des Vendanges puts music at the heart of the program. Concerts, choirs, dances, street performances, and neighborhood stages complement the festival's traditional highlights. The theme is woven into every detail: local schoolchildren from the 18th will sing hits by Goldman, Jonasz, France Gall, and Stromae at Square Louise Michel; the exhibition at Dalí Paris explores the painter's visual rhythm; and the screening of "Lola" at La Fémis will be followed by a Q&A with two film composers.
The Taste Trail
The Taste Trail brings together around a hundred producers, winemakers, and artisans from across France around the Sacré-Cœur, spanning the streets of Azaïs, Saint-Éleuthère, Cardinal Guibert, Cardinal Dubois, and the square itself. It is open on Friday, October 9th and Saturday, October 10th from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM, and on Sunday, October 11th from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Admission is free; products are available for purchase via card or cash. Accessible entry for visitors with reduced mobility is available via the funicular at Place Suzanne Valadon.
The Harvest Proclamation and the Grand Parade
On Saturday, October 10th, the Harvest Proclamation kicks off the picking at the Clos Montmartre at 9:45 AM, accompanied by the drums of the P'tits Poulbots. Éric Lejoindre, Mayor of the 18th, will inaugurate the event alongside Alain Coquard for the République de Montmartre, Éric Sureau for the COFAS, Alain Valentin for the Commanderie du Clos Montmartre, and Jean-Loup Bouvier for the Commune Libre de Montmartre. The public can follow the ceremony from Rue Saint-Vincent and Rue des Saules. At 11:45 AM, the Grand Parade leaves the vineyards to head toward the 18th arrondissement town hall via Rue de l'Abreuvoir, Rue Girardon, Avenue Junot, Rue Caulaincourt, and Rue du Mont-Cenis: over fifty brotherhoods and nearly 1,400 participants, guided by the youth of Macadam 18.
The OFF Program
Alongside the official schedule, venues and associations in the 18th are hosting an "OFF" program: backstage tours of the Moulin Rouge, exhibitions at Le Bal, Dalí Paris, and La Ville a des Arts, concerts at 360 Paris and Le Trianon, library workshops, a masquerade ball at Plantation Paris, and open stages in community gardens. Most of these events are free, while some require booking or have an entry fee.

A Parisian vineyard steeped in history
The Fête des Vendanges de Montmartre is inseparable from the Clos Montmartre, the only remaining vineyard within the city limits on the Right Bank of Paris. The ladies of the Montmartre Abbey planted the first vines in the 12th century, and at one point, three-quarters of the Butte was covered in them before urban expansion wiped them out by 1928. In 1933, a group of local figures—including Pierre Labric, mayor of the Commune Libre, along with Jean-Louis Forain, Francisque Poulbot, Adolphe Willette, and Victor Perrot—successfully campaigned to plant new vines at the corner of rue des Saules and rue Saint-Vincent to block a real estate development project. By 1934, the harvest was being celebrated, with Mistinguett and Fernandel serving as the first patrons.
Today, the City of Paris gardeners tend to the Clos year-round. The 18th arrondissement's Festival and Social Action Committee (COFAS) oversees the winemaking process under the guidance of an oenologist, handles bottling in the 18th arrondissement town hall cellars, and manages the sale of the Clos Montmartre vintage, with all proceeds supporting local social initiatives.
Five days across the entire 18th
Since 1934, Montmartre has celebrated its harvest every second weekend of October. In 2008, the 18th arrondissement town hall expanded the festivities to include every neighborhood in the district, from Grandes-Carrières to Goutte d'Or and from La Chapelle to Porte de Clignancourt, involving local schools, community centers, associations, and merchants. It is now the third most popular event in Paris, trailing only Paris-Plages and the Nuit Blanche.
The traditional pillars
Four Montmartre-based organizations drive the festival alongside the 18th arrondissement town hall. The République de Montmartre, founded in 1920, leads the Grand Parade. The P'tits Poulbots, an association established in 1939 to continue the work of the dispensary opened by illustrator Francisque Poulbot, accompany the processions playing drums while dressed in 1813 infantry uniforms. The Commune Libre de Montmartre, proclaimed on April 11, 1920, by Jules Depaquit, is the festival's birthplace: its mayor, Pierre Labric, launched the Fête du Raisin in 1934, the ancestor of today's harvest festival. The 18th arrondissement's Festival and Social Action Committee, chaired by Éric Sureau, produces and sells the wine.
2025 Edition: The 18th, eternally young
The 92nd edition, held from October 8 to 12, 2025, featured Valérie Perrin as patron and centered on the theme "The 18th, eternally young." It drew nearly 492,000 participants. The Clos harvest yielded 1,027 kilos of grapes on September 23. Nearly 1,200 people attended the opening night at the 18th arrondissement town hall, 400 runners took part in the night race, and the Grand Parade brought together 54 brotherhoods and 1,500 participants.
2026 Edition: "The 18th sets the rhythm"
The 93rd edition takes place from Wednesday, October 7 to Sunday, October 11, 2026, placing music at the heart of the program alongside the Ban des Vendanges, the Grand Parade, the Parcours du Goût, the non-marriage proposal ceremony, and the closing ball. Regarding sustainability, organizers are emphasizing waste sorting and reuse with the association Les Connexions, providing dry, self-contained toilets, collecting corks from the Parcours du Goût with Planète Liège, and offering reusable cups and containers from Esprit Planète at all stands.
