Programme Montmartre Arènes Solidarity Festival 2026

Thursday, September 10th — 8:30 PM

Les Fleurs Noires — Tangos Aumentados
The all-female orchestra taking tango into a new era. Argentine memory meets contemporary composition, electronics, and immersive forms in a single creative surge. Founded in 2003 by Veronica Votti, Luciana Jatuff, and Andréa Marsili, Fleurs Noires has established itself between Buenos Aires and Paris as a unique contemporary tango ensemble, driven by Andréa Marsili's compositions, where tango dialogues with jazz, contemporary music, and open-ended sonic exploration.

Friday, September 11th

  • 7:00 PM — Nuit Furie, electro-rock. This project was born from the meeting of classical cellist Fiona Hamonic and eclectic musician Raphaël Archambault. Their artistic vision took shape after a Vitalic concert in 2017, where they decided to merge their influences into a project where machines converse with acoustic instruments. Joined by Hugo Rongières (bass) and Geoffrey Cormont (drums), they recorded their self-titled debut EP and developed an intense live show, sitting at the crossroads of a rock concert and an electro set.
  • 8:30 PM — Egide, French chanson and nu-disco. After holing up in Normandy for months to craft a live set that truly reflects them, this is the culmination of nights spent dreaming of a concert where raw emotions take center stage, with a mantra of absolute creative freedom. Their debut EP, "Candide Coule," has been very well received on streaming platforms.

Saturday, September 12th

  • 7:00 PM — Lia Joani, alternative pop. "Dor'" is the title of her new EP, released on April 3rd. It explores growing up, evolving with others and oneself, grief, nostalgia for the past, and deciding what to keep and what to let go.
  • 8:30 PM — Shadi, rage pop. Cheeky and demanding her freedom, Shadi navigates a cynical world tinged with self-deprecation. She sings her goodbye to childhood, her anger at a crumbling family, and her disillusionment with society. Using school as an allegory for a dysfunctional society, her writing is simple, direct, and poetic in its brutality, questioning alienation at work, the legitimacy of anger, and gender identity.

Thursday, September 17th — 8:30 PM

Ensemble Kimya — The King and the Architect, concert, storytelling, and music from Iran. One day, the King of Kings decides to have the Palace of Palaces built by the Architect of Architects. But a few days before the inauguration, the architect disappears, leaving the palace and the king in disarray. Born from the meeting between storyteller Emmanuelle Cordoliani and the Kimya ensemble, this show is a loose adaptation of Reza Ghassemi's The Architect's Dilemma. The Kimya ensemble—its name derived from the Arabic word for alchemy—brings together four musicians trained in European, Iranian, and Indian classical traditions.

Friday, September 18th — 8:30 PM

Ligue d'Improvisation de Paris vs. Les Malades de l'Imaginaire, improv match. An entirely improvised evening: the audience votes for their favorite improvisations and decides which team wins the match. For 25 years, the improvisers of the League have been gracing the Parisian stage.

Saturday, September 19th

  • 3:00 PM — Easy Style, sound system. From 50s ska to the latest dancehall hits: reggae, ragga, digital, shatta selections, and dubplates from Jamaican or French-speaking artists recorded specifically for the sound system. Active since 2002, with Parisian residencies, dates across France and abroad, mixtapes, and radio shows.
  • 8:30 PM — Rumba Love, Congolese rumba. Cuban sailors brought 78s to Brazzaville, and gramophone cranks made over 200 titles released by EMI resonate. Grocery store backrooms turned into recording studios, and Lingala quickly supplanted the Spanish of Cuban rumba: Congolese rumba was born. For over twenty years, Rumba Love has been based in Paris, bringing together musicians and singers from the great Kinshasa ensembles—Zaïko Langa Langa, Tout Puissant OK Jazz, and Papa Wemba's Viva La Musica, Wenge Musica.

An open-air theater on the slopes of the Butte

The arènes de Montmartre are a small, semi-circular amphitheater nestled in a garden on rue Chappe, just a few dozen steps from the Sacré-Cœur Basilica. Access is via a staircase at 1 rue Gabrielle. This is where the association la strada dell'arte hosts its annual Festival solidaire: a short, high-energy program where the audience sits just a few meters from the musicians.

A festival that gives back

The concept is simple: bringing artists and audiences together to help those in need. A portion of the proceeds goes to support the neighborhood's homeless population. Ticket prices follow the same philosophy—ranging from 5 to 20 € depending on the show, with reduced rates for students, job seekers, and retirees, and free admission for those in financial difficulty.

What to expect

The 2026 lineup is intentionally eclectic. It kicks off with Les Fleurs Noires, an all-female contemporary tango orchestra formed in 2003 between Buenos Aires and Paris, and concludes with Rumba Love, a Parisian Congolese rumba group featuring musicians from Zaïko Langa Langa, Tout Puissant OK Jazz, and Papa Wemba's Viva La Musica. In between, enjoy the electro-rock of Nuit Furie, the nu-disco chanson of Egide, the alternative pop of Lia Joani, the pop-rage of Shadi, the Iranian musical storytelling of the Kimya ensemble, an improv match between the Ligue d'Improvisation de Paris and Les Malades de l'Imaginaire, and the reggae-dancehall sound system of Easy Style.

Getting there

The arena is served by the Anvers and Abbesses metro stations, the funicular, and the Montmartrobus. Doors open one hour before each show, and food and drinks are available on-site.
