Street Arts and Music Festival — 28th edition, July 17 to 19, 2026
Since 1997, the Les Zendimanchés festival has offered a selection of street art shows and concerts every summer in Saint-Hilaire-de-Chaléons (Loire-Atlantique, Pays de Retz). Organized by the Collectif Spectacles en Retz in the Parc de la Cure, it stands out for its meticulous scenography, an original and demanding food menu, and a very warm atmosphere.
Carefully Selected Shows
The proposed shows are carefully chosen from the programming team's favorites. The team carefully applies the guidelines set by the volunteers: let's be curious rather than consensual, let's bet on discovery rather than on safe and expected values, let's open ourselves to world music, and let's be interested in all performing arts. Actors, circus performers, musicians, and dancers are thus part of the celebration every year.
The Collectif Spectacles en Retz Celebration
Because it is indeed a celebration, one of those where every year people meet up for the pleasure of finding close friends, old acquaintances, or simple accomplices of a privileged, warm, generous, intense, and soothing moment. The festival aims to be this cordial gathering for all generations. It is aimed at all residents of Pays de Retz and beyond, striving to convince those less familiar with cultural outings to join the celebration.
A Warm Welcome
The quality of the welcome extended to this audience is one of the strong commitments of the organizers: to offer comfort and excellent listening conditions, thanks to the choices made in the layout of the venues and high technical standards. Also thanks to the embellishment of the park and the surprising installations by the decor team. Furthermore, thanks to the particular care taken in the selection of drinks and various products, most often local and artisanal, offered for sale (refreshment stand and catering). Finally, and above all, of course, thanks to the enthusiasm of the festival volunteers, and the contagious conviviality implemented within the teams.
The Festival's Values
The festival aims to offer a serene space and moment, free from violence or discrimination (physical or verbal), whether sexist, racist, homophobic, ableist, or otherwise.
The festival adheres to the imperatives of ecological transition. It strives towards zero single-use plastic, sorts waste, and implements a participatory dishware system.
The festival works towards the inclusion of all audiences, regardless of age, disability, origin, or gender.
A Collective Construction
The festival, like the Collectif Spectacles en Retz, advocates for cultural proposals built collectively, with socio-cultural actors and residents. It aims to play its role in raising awareness of performing arts by developing true proximity and fostering appropriation by residents. It also aligns with and sometimes extends the artistic and cultural education actions that the Collectif implements for children and young people, and can develop the resonance of amateur practices.
Support for Creation
The festival also aims to play a role in supporting creation. Each year, its program includes regional creations that it invites for their very first performances.
In short, the Collectif Spectacles en Retz, with Les Zendimanchés, aims to achieve an open, beautiful, and useful celebration.
Collectif Spectacles en Retz presents the 28th edition of the Les Zendimanchés street arts festival. In a difficult economic context, it takes on the challenge of a dense and ambitious program. For three days, indeed, 20 shows and more than 30 performances will be offered. You'll navigate between genuine laughter and sensitive emotions, between grand collective dance and intimate reflection, between circus feats and soul concerts…
As usual, Les Zendimanchés also offers original decor, a carefully selected food service, and strives to provide the best welcome to all audiences.
This year, the festival opens up to new collaborations, notably with Collectif Mobil Casbah and La Forge Enchantée. Thanks to the former, an unusual funfair will be presented, a new wild ball will premiere, and a beautiful big top will be enjoyed. Thanks to the latter, shows will be seen in an original setting and enchanted breakfasts can be enjoyed…
It is therefore the gamble of a new momentum that is being taken. The challenge is to keep this now unmissable street arts event alive, and a festival committed to values of accessibility, eco-responsibility, and violence prevention. An event that also simply wants to be a great moment of shared joy.
