The regional literature fair in Le Mans

Le Mans has its major book event, Faites Lire!, which focuses on prominent French and international authors. Lire Autre'Mans complements this by highlighting the regional literary scene. The Auteurs du Maine et du Loir association created this fair to give the people of Sarthe access to works that resonate more closely with their daily lives, history, culture, and neighborhoods.

The Auteurs du Maine et du Loir association

Born from the Comité des Écrivains du Maine, the association brings together cultural and literary creators from Sarthe and neighboring departments, including writers, poets, musicians, playwrights, illustrators, painters, and photographers. It has 91 active members, and its board, elected in February 2026, is chaired by Gérard Degan. The association also publishes a collective work titled Le Grand Livre des Sarthois.

The venue

Since 2026, the fair has been held at the Sainte-Jeanne-d'Arc church on Place Washington, located between Rue Chanzy and Avenue Jean-Jaurès, opposite the Lycée Gabriel-Touchard. The venue offers over 600 m² of single-level space. Le Mans train station is 500 meters away, and the tramway stop is about 50 meters away.
