The Livres & Davantage Festival was born in 2022 from the merger of the Alençon book fair and poetry festival, two events that had each marked the cultural life of the city. This union gave birth to an ambitious festival that embraces literature in all its diversity: novels, poetry, comics, children's books, essays, travelogues, crime fiction, science fiction...

Five days of literary encounters

The festival spans five days, from Wednesday to Sunday, with a highlight on the weekend at the Halle aux Toiles, an emblematic venue in the center of Alençon. Throughout the week, events are held in various locations in the city: bookstores, media libraries, performance venues, and public spaces.

Meetings and signings

On the weekend, the Halle aux Toiles hosts dozens of authors and illustrators for signing sessions and public encounters. Themed meeting panels allow for in-depth discussions on literary and societal topics with invited authors, in an intimate format that encourages exchange.

Shows and readings

The festival also offers public readings, live performances inspired by literary works, poetry performances, and concerts related to the world of books. This multidisciplinary dimension is the richness and originality of the event.

A festival open to all

The Livres & Davantage Festival is aimed at all audiences. Writing workshops, children's readings, and youth activities accompany the main program. School groups benefit from a dedicated program with author encounters in classrooms and visits to the fair.

The Alençon Book Fair Association

Supported by the Alençon Book Fair Association, the festival mobilizes a team of passionate volunteers and benefits from the support of the city, the department, and the region. It contributes to the literary influence of Alençon and Normandy, attracting visitors from all over the region each year.
