The Salon du Livre du Perche: a celebration of literature in the heart of Perche

Since 2008, the Salon du Livre du Perche has brought together literature enthusiasts every December in Soligny-la-Trappe, a peaceful Perche commune located in the Orne department. Supported by the Association Culturelle Solignoise, this fair has become in a few years one of the major literary events in the region.

Fifty authors at the rendezvous

Each edition welcomes around 50 authors from more than fifteen departments, covering a wide variety of literary genres: novels, poetry, thrillers, children's literature, history, essays, comic strips, and regional stories. The authors are present for both days for signing sessions and direct exchanges with readers.

Conferences and round tables

The program is enriched by conferences and round tables led by authors on various themes. These moments of exchange deepen the discovery of works and allow the public to better understand the literary creation process.

Poetry contest

The fair organizes a poetry contest, the results of which are announced during an awards ceremony, honoring the best creations with "Golden Truffle", "Silver Truffle", and "Bronze Truffle" trophies, a nod to the forest heritage of Perche.

A friendly inaugural ceremony

Each edition begins with an official inaugural ceremony, followed by a moment of conviviality. On Saturday evening, a conference or special event extends the day, while Sunday concludes with a free raffle offering literary prizes.

Rooted in Perche

Located in the commune of Soligny-la-Trappe, known for its proximity to the Abbaye de la Trappe, the fair benefits from an authentic and welcoming setting. It contributes to the cultural influence of Perche and the animation of the territory during the winter period, reminding us that literature and reading remain lively and shared pleasures.
