Loupoulo Festival

ℹ️ Festival discontinued — End announced on February 26, 2025. After eight main editions (the last one in August 2024 in Largentière), the Loupoulo Production association announced the definitive end of the festival on its official Instagram account on February 26, 2025, citing economic and organizational constraints. The 9th edition, planned for June 6 to 8, 2025, has been cancelled, and no edition is scheduled for 2026.

World Music and French Song in Southern Ardèche

The Loupoulo Festival was a three-day music festival held annually in southern Ardèche, first in Rosières (07260) then at Domaine de Jossoin "Chez Coco" in Largentière for its last editions. Supported by the non-profit association Loupoulo Production, the festival contributed for nearly ten years to the cultural dynamism of southern Ardèche, blending world music and French-language song.

A Vibrant and Committed Program

The Loupoulo Festival's program favored contemporary artists with a "world music" flavor: Latin, African, Oriental, reggae, dub music, as well as a significant portion of French-language song encompassing chanson, poetry, slam, and rap. Quirky and humorous artists completed the lineup. Among the artists who performed at Loupoulo are Biga*Ranx, L'Entourloop, Zoufris Maracas, Sara Lugo, Flox, Hilight Tribe, O.B.F. x Iration Steppas, Jahneration, Hippocampe Fou, Manudigital, Soviet Suprem, Les Fatals Picards, Didier Super, Sidi Wacho, and Baja Frequencia.

Values of Sharing and Benevolence

The Loupoulo Festival was driven by strong values: benevolence, dialogue, consideration, anti-authoritarianism, anti-sexism, anti-racism, and respect for others. The Loupoulo Production association relied on the work of passionate volunteers, driven by the common desire to energize a rural territory they loved by bringing culture and vitality to it. The festival aimed to be a space for meeting and sharing, open to all.

From Rosières to Largentière

The festival took place during its first editions in Rosières, an Ardèche commune in the Beaume valley, before moving for its last editions to Domaine de Jossoin "Chez Coco" in Largentière (07110), by the river and in the shade of centennial trees. A winter version, the «Tempête Hivernale», was also organized in November 2023 in Grospierres and then in February 2025.

The End of an Adventure

On February 26, 2025, the team posted a farewell message on Instagram: "Curtain call for the Loupoulo Festival." The organizers cited conditions that no longer allowed them to maintain the event under the desired circumstances, preferring to stop rather than hold an edition that would not meet their standards. The announcement left open the possibility of a future resumption, "with more favorable circumstances." To date, no new edition has been announced.
