Christmas magic in the heart of the Catalan capital
The Perpignan Christmas Market is the unmissable event for the end-of-year celebrations in the Pyrénées-Orientales. From late November to early January, the Quai Sébastien Vauban and the squares of the city center light up with artisan chalets, a Ferris wheel at the foot of the Castillet, children's rides, and festive entertainment. Free entry, this magical event attracts tens of thousands of visitors each year.
Each year, from late November to early January, Perpignan adorns itself with its most beautiful illuminations to host its Christmas Market. The Quai Sébastien Vauban, with its extension on Place Gabriel Péri, forms the heart of the event with its wooden artisan chalets offering local creations, regional products, and gift ideas.
The enchantment is not limited to the Vauban quay. Perpignan's emblematic squares participate in the Christmas magic: Place de Catalogne, Place Arago, Place de la Résistance, and Place Gambetta host gourmet chalets, rides, and carousels for children. At the foot of the Castillet, the Ferris wheel offers a breathtaking view of the illuminated city.
The Christmas program in Perpignan includes numerous activities: gospel concert and fireworks for the inauguration, Christmas parade from the boulevard Wilson, traditional Catalan entertainment, living nativity scenes, and an artisan market. The gourmet chalets scattered across the different squares offer local specialties and seasonal treats.
Perpignan's Christmas harmoniously blends Catalan traditions with Christmas festivities: the Tió de Nadal (Catalan Christmas log), the Caganer (typical figurines), and traditional Catalan songs enrich the festive atmosphere, making the Perpignan Christmas Market a unique event.
