The Langres Christmas Market: enchantment at the foot of the ramparts

Nestled on its fortified promontory, the city of Langres offers an exceptional setting to celebrate the magic of Christmas. Every year, the courtyard of the Denis Diderot college, Place Diderot, transforms into a real Christmas village where around forty local producers and artisans welcome visitors in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Craftsmanship and flavors from the Haute-Marne region

The carefully selected exhibitors offer a wide range of artisanal creations and local products: handmade Christmas decorations, jewelry, ceramics, scented candles, textiles, wooden toys, and unique decorative objects. On the gastronomic side, visitors discover specialties from Haute-Marne and the Grand Est region: Langres cheese, honey, confectionery, gingerbread, artisanal chocolates, and other seasonal treats. The Taverne Langroise complements the offer with its refreshment bar, comforting mulled wine, and on-site catering.

More than 40 passionate exhibitors

The market brings together art craftsmen, local farmers, and local creators who share their know-how and passion. It's the ideal opportunity to find original and authentic gifts while supporting the local economy and short supply chains in the region.

Entertainment and heritage discovery

The Christmas Market is punctuated by free entertainment for all ages throughout the weekend. Children can enjoy plaster painting workshops and face painting sessions, while the La Chanterelle choir delights the public with its Christmas carols. Themed guided tours called "Lumières sur..." (Lights on...) lasting 30 minutes allow visitors to discover Langres' rich heritage in a magical night-time setting, particularly around the Saint-Martin church and the Saint-Mammès cathedral.

A unique heritage setting

Langres, a city of art and history, houses one of the largest fortified enclosures in Europe with its 8 kilometers of ramparts. This exceptional historical setting gives the Christmas market an incomparable atmosphere, with its medieval streets, monumental towers, and breathtaking panoramas over the Langres plateau. A walk on the illuminated ramparts is the perfect complement to a visit to the market.
