Each year, the city of Vendôme adorns itself in its finest attire to celebrate the holiday season. All the festivities, including the Christmas markets, Abbaye on Ice, and the "Bientôt Noël à Vendôme" events, transform this historic city on the Loir into a magical place for over six weeks, from late November to mid-January.

Abbaye on Ice: Ice Rink and Shows at the Foot of the Abbey of the Trinity

Since 2015, Abbaye on Ice has been the flagship event of the Vendôme festivities. A temporary ice rink is set up on the Rochambeau square, facing the majestic Abbey of the Trinity, a listed historic monument. The troupe Patinair presents a show combining figure skating, acrobatics, aerial acts, and Christmas magic, with about ten talented artists. The illumination of the Régence building and the abbey creates a spectacular backdrop for winter evenings.

Artisanal Christmas Markets

Several Christmas markets take place in Vendôme during the holiday season:

• Christmas Market at the Farm: Local producers and artisans offer their creations, with a mini-farm, gourmet market, and tractor parade
• CCAS Christmas Market: About thirty exhibitors with foie gras, oysters, wines, honey, candles, and artisanal products
• Christmas Markets in the Vendômois region: Events in the neighboring towns of Selommes, Naveil, Sainte-Anne, and Mondoubleau

Street Entertainment and Shows

The streets of Vendôme come alive throughout the period with street shows, concerts, creative workshops for children, carriage rides, and a visit from Santa Claus. The Christmas illuminations highlight the city's architectural heritage, creating a magical atmosphere in the medieval alleys and along the Loir river.
