The magic of Christmas for a whole month in the heart of Belfort
Le Mois Givré is the major winter event of the City of Belfort, which transforms the city center into a magical Christmas village every December. For a month, over 250 activities fill the emblematic squares: ice skating rink, ice karting, craft market, shows, concerts, meetings with Santa Claus, and activities for the whole family.
Every early December, the City of Belfort transforms into an enchanted winter wonderland thanks to Le Mois Givré. For over a month — from early December to early January — more than 250 activities are offered to residents and visitors of the Belfort Territory and neighboring regions. It is the most anticipated popular event of the year in the capital of the Belfort Territory.
The heart of Le Mois Givré beats on the main squares of the city center. Place Corbis hosts the ice skating rink, allowing you to glide on an outdoor ice surface in an illuminated setting. On Place des Vosges, ice karting offers thrills for speed and excitement lovers. Place d'Armes, dominated by the Lion of Belfort, transforms into the Village des P'tits Givrés, with slides, Santa's house, children's games, and family activities.
The craft market, located on several squares in the city center, brings together local and regional artisans who offer their creations: jewelry, Christmas decorations, regional gastronomic products, artisanal soaps, candles, ceramics, and many other treasures. This market, which promotes quality and authenticity, invites visitors to discover Franche-Comté know-how and to do their Christmas shopping in a warm atmosphere.
Throughout December, ice shows with professional skaters dazzle spectators. Christmas concerts, light parades, fireside storytelling, creative workshops, and meetings with Santa Claus complete a dense and festive program. Sports personalities — such as Olympic figure skating champion Brian Joubert — sometimes participate in the event, adding a touch of prestige.
Organized by the City of Belfort, Le Mois Givré has become an essential family and popular gathering for the Belfort Territory and the north of Franche-Comté. It attracts tens of thousands of visitors each year from Belfort, the department's towns, and neighboring regions — Alsace, Doubs, Haute-Saône.
Le Mois Givré 2026 will once again transform Belfort's city center into a Christmas wonderland throughout December. Ice rink, ice karting, craft market, shows, and over 250 activities are expected for this major family winter event.
