The biggest Harley-Davidson gathering in the Alps, four days of motorcycles and rock
The Morzine-Avoriaz Harley Days are the largest gathering of Harley-Davidson bikers in the mountains in Europe. Every July, the resort of Morzine transforms for four days into the capital of custom and rock, welcoming over 10,000 motorcycles and 30,000 visitors from all over Europe. Organized in partnership with HOG (Harley Owners Group) France, the event offers spectacular motorcycle rides on Alpine passes during the day and 100% free rock concerts every evening in the heart of the village. Since its creation in the early 2010s, the Harley Days have become a legendary event for Harley-Davidson enthusiasts and rock music lovers.
Every July, the Alpine village of Morzine, nestled in the heart of the Portes du Soleil ski area in Haute-Savoie, comes alive to the rhythm of V-Twin engines and guitar riffs. The Morzine-Avoriaz Harley Days transform this traditional mountain resort into a huge biker village, attracting thousands of Harley-Davidson enthusiasts from France, Switzerland, Italy, Belgium, Germany, and even further afield.
The event was born in the early 2010s, taking advantage of Morzine's exceptional geographical location – at the crossroads of legendary Alpine roads – and the resort's capacity. Sponsored by Philippe Manoeuvre, legendary editor-in-chief of Rock&Folk magazine, the gathering quickly gained international status, becoming one of the largest Harley Days in Europe and the most significant in a mountain setting.
The heart of the Harley Days lies in the motorcycle rides. For four days, convoys of hundreds, even thousands, of Harley-Davidsons cruise the surrounding Alpine roads, taking routes of 80 to 200 km through some of the most beautiful passes in the Northern Alps: Col de Joux Plane, Col de la Colombière, Col des Gets, Col du Corbier, with excursions into nearby Switzerland.
The highlight is the grand parade of over 1,000 motorcycles connecting Avoriaz to Morzine, a striking sound and visual spectacle that draws thousands of spectators along the route. The roar of the engines mingles with the Alpine landscapes in a striking and photogenic contrast that makes the event unique.
Every evening, the heart of the village of Morzine vibrates to the sound of free rock concerts. The musical program, branded "pure rock", features renowned bands and artists on a large stage in the center of the village. Over the years, the Harley Days have hosted prestigious headliners: Status Quo, the Dire Straits Experience, Roger Hodgson (Supertramp), and many other classic rock, blues-rock, and hard-rock bands.
The concerts, which can attract up to 7,500 spectators, create an electric open-air atmosphere at the foot of the mountains, bringing together bikers, families, and holidaymakers in a popular, intergenerational celebration.
During the Harley Days, the village of Morzine is transformed. Exhibitor stands – motorcycle equipment suppliers, customizers, accessory vendors, tattoo artists, barbers – take over the streets and squares. Customization workshops offer insights into Harley-Davidson personalization techniques. Dedicated spaces for HOG (Harley Owners Group), the official club for Harley-Davidson owners, welcome members from all over Europe for meetups, bike displays, and demonstrations.
The event benefits from completely free access, contributing to its popular success. The economic impact for the resort of Morzine and the Vallée d'Aulps is considerable: full accommodation, crowded restaurants, and lively shops for four days.
