Vibrate, share, discover: the eclectic festival of Cendrecourt
Since 1999, Music'en Brousse has been making the Haute-Saône countryside vibrate to the rhythm of an eclectic program mixing rock, reggae, dub, ska, hip-hop, and metal. This human-sized festival, held outdoors in Cendrecourt since 2014, offers two evenings of concerts with eight artists, on-site camping, and friendly catering. Driven by a passionate cultural association, MEB celebrates over twenty-five years of musical discoveries in rural areas in 2026.
The Music'en Brousse adventure began in 1999 in Jussey, a small town in northern Haute-Saône, when a handful of enthusiasts created a cultural association dedicated to organizing concerts. In its early days, the festival was limited to intimate indoor evenings before expanding to include a nocturnal artisan market in Villars-le-Pautel. But it was in 2014, to celebrate its 15th anniversary, that Music'en Brousse took a decisive step by moving outdoors to Cendrecourt, allowing for a more ambitious program on a stage befitting its aspirations.
MEB distinguishes itself through its resolutely eclectic programming. From rock to reggae, dub to ska, hip-hop to metal, as well as folk and drum & bass, the festival rejects labels and boldly cultivates a mix of genres. Each edition features eight concerts spread over two evenings, offering festival-goers a musical journey that is as surprising as it is generous. Among the artists who have marked the festival's history are names like Les Tambours du Bronx, Soviet Suprem, HK, Karpatt, and Brain Damage.
Located at rue des Jardiney in Cendrecourt, the festival takes advantage of its rural environment to offer an immersive experience in the heart of nature. The free camping on site allows festival-goers to extend the experience beyond the concerts, while the catering offers grilled meats, sandwiches, fries, and crepes in a relaxed atmosphere. The spirit of MEB, summarized by its motto "Vibrate, Share, Discover", can be felt in every corner of the site.
Driven by the association Music en Brousse, the festival is the result of the work of passionate volunteers who strive all year round to keep musical culture alive in rural areas. MEB has managed to finance its ambitions thanks to the support of local partners and crowdfunding campaigns, demonstrating the public's and the region's attachment to this event. For over a quarter of a century, Music'en Brousse has proven that the Franche-Comté countryside can vibrate as strongly as the big urban stages.
Music'en Brousse returns on July 24 and 25, 2026, in Cendrecourt for a new edition of the festival. Two evenings of eclectic concerts are scheduled in the charming rural setting of Haute-Saône.
